Why do we spank children as soon as they cry?

It is normal for children to cry, everyone goes through this. Therefore, when facing children crying, parents must not be anxious, but must treat it with a normal mind and not beat or scold the baby, otherwise the baby will not only cry more severely, but may also harm the baby's mental health. Some parents have found that their babies twitch every time they cry. What is the reason for this?

At this time, because the central nervous system of infants and young children is not fully developed, they will cry loudly when they are angry, frightened or something they are not happy about, which increases the excitability of the emotional center and temporarily suppresses the respiratory center. Therefore, babies often experience respiratory arrest after crying for a few times, resulting in blood lack of oxygen and blue lips. In severe cases, the baby may even straighten his whole body, lose consciousness, and have convulsions. Most of them last for half a minute, after which the muscles relax and return to their original state. A few severe cases can last for 2-3 minutes.

When encountering this situation, you can quickly lay the baby's body flat or lower the head slightly to reduce brain hypoxia, then pat the soles of the feet or back, pinch the Ren Zhong point, so that the baby's consciousness will quickly recover and breathing will resume at the same time. The prognosis is generally good without sequelae. If the baby has frequent seizures and often suffers from brain hypoxia, it is not good for the baby's health and should be prevented.

What causes children to convulse?

Epileptic seizure refers to a clinical phenomenon caused by abnormal and excessive hypersynchronous discharges of brain neurons. Epileptic seizures can cause great physical and mental harm to epileptic patients, and even threaten their lives. Myoclonus is a rapid, involuntary muscle twitch, similar to an electric shock. Although more serious muscle tics are a physical disease that can affect a person's normal life, physiological muscle tics (such as hiccups, sleep twitches, and muscle twitches when tired or nervous) also occur from time to time in normal people's lives and can be said to have little to do with physical health.
