Symptoms of otitis media in one-year-old baby

Generally speaking, one-year-old babies are in relatively good health because they are cared for by their mother and family every day, eat well and sleep well, and are not prone to illness. However, there are some babies who are born weak, so they will suffer from many diseases as they grow up, and colds and fevers are more common. So, what are the symptoms of otitis media in a one-year-old baby?

Otitis media is not like a cold or fever, which can be diagnosed immediately. Some babies are still young and will not clearly express that "ear pain" so it is not easy for parents to notice. If your baby has the following symptoms, he may have otitis media.

1. Fever: If your baby has a fever of over 37.5℃ for three consecutive days and the fever does not subside after taking medicine, you should consider the possibility that your baby has otitis media and you should go to the ENT department for examination as soon as possible.

2. Scratching ears: If your baby keeps touching, scratching, or pulling his ears, you should consider whether he has otitis media.

3. Shaking head: When you find your baby restless and shaking his head, you should consider that his ears may be uncomfortable.

4. Crying: If the child suddenly becomes irritable, cries, and has trouble sleeping at night, take him to see a doctor immediately.

5. Water accumulation in the ears: When you find yellow secretions flowing out, you should pay attention.

6. Poor hearing: Exudate in the eardrum can cause hearing loss. If you find that your baby is slow to respond to your calls and does not respond even after you call him several times, take him to an ENT doctor for a check-up immediately.

As a parent, you must observe your baby carefully. Once you find that your baby has the symptoms mentioned in this article, you need to be alert immediately and carefully check whether your baby's body is abnormal. This can ensure that your baby's otitis media is effectively treated as soon as possible.
