Wind-heat cold in children is a type of children's cold. Wind-heat cold is a disease caused by wind-heat evil invading the lungs, causing lung incoordination. The symptoms of this disease are different from other cold symptoms such as fear of cold and wind. The symptoms of wind-heat cold are mainly fever all over the body, excessive nasal mucus and cough in the throat. The cough may also be accompanied by thick sputum, dry stool and red and yellow urine. Wind-heat cold in children should be treated promptly, because children will have symptoms such as irritability, unwillingness to eat, unstable sleep, and easy awakening during the cold period. It greatly affects children's growth. Here we will introduce what medicine should be taken for treatment. Symptoms: fever without sweating, or with poor sweating, slight aversion to wind and cold, headache and thirst, cough and sore throat, red tip of tongue, thin white or thin yellow tongue coating, and floating and rapid pulse. Treatment principle: The treatment of wind-heat cold mainly focuses on using pungent and cool herbs to penetrate the surface, clear away heat and detoxify. 1. Host Yinqiao Powder. Prescription: Forsythia, honeysuckle, platycodon, mint, bamboo leaves, raw licorice, schizonepeta spicate, light black beans, and burdock seeds. 2. Three soups for treating wind-heat cold The symptoms of wind-heat cold are worsening fever, headache, red, swollen, dry and painful throat, nasal congestion and yellow mucus, cough with sticky or yellow sputum, thirst and desire to drink, and fear of wind. Looking in the mirror, you can see that the tip of the tongue is red and the coating is thin, white and slightly yellow. It may also aggravate acne on the head and face, constipation, etc. The treatment method should be mainly based on relieving exterior symptoms with pungent and cool properties. (1) Peppermint porridge (selected from "Song Yu Lu") Boil the peppermint juice and wait for it to cool down. Add glutinous rice and water to cook porridge. When the porridge is almost done, add the peppermint juice and appropriate amount of rock sugar. Take it when it is slightly warm, it is best if you sweat. Mint is an important medicine for dispersing wind-heat. Adding mint to porridge with rice and rock sugar can induce sweating and has a stomach-protecting effect. This soup is most suitable for those who have just caught a wind-heat. (2) Mulberry, chrysanthemum and mint drink: Add a small amount of mulberry leaves, chrysanthemum, mint, bitter bamboo leaves and honey to an appropriate amount of water, boil and drink frequently instead of tea. Mulberry leaves clear away lung heat; chrysanthemums dispel wind-heat, improve eyesight and soothe the liver; mint is an important medicine for dispersing wind-heat and can quickly relieve symptoms such as fever and headache. It is also suitable for patients with high blood pressure, headache, or blurred vision. (3) Steamed pear with Fritillaria and Adenophora: Peel and core a pear, add appropriate amounts of Fritillaria, Adenophora, mint and rock sugar, put them in a bowl, add water and steam until cooked. Eat them in the morning and evening for several days. This soup moistens dryness and relieves cough, resolves phlegm and clears the lungs. It is especially suitable for the elderly and children who have a cold and fever that damages the yin and causes dry throat and cough, lung heat and yellow phlegm, or thirst and dry stool due to loss of body fluid. 3. Chinese patent medicine for wind-heat cold (1) Antiviral oral liquid: Isatis root, gypsum, reed root, raw rehmannia root, curcuma, anemarrhena, calamus, patchouli, forsythia. Functions and indications: Clears away heat and dampness, cools blood and detoxifies. It is used for wind-heat cold, fever caused by febrile diseases, upper respiratory tract infections, influenza, mumps and other viral infections. (2) Isatis root granules Isatis root. The auxiliary materials are sucrose and dextrin. Functions and indications: Clears away heat and detoxifies, cools blood and relieves sore throat. It is used for sore throat and dry oropharynx caused by excessive heat in the lungs and stomach; for acute tonsillitis and mumps with the above symptoms. (3) Yinqiao Jiedu Tablets: honeysuckle, forsythia, mint, schizonepeta, light fermented soybeans, burdock (fried), platycodon, light bamboo leaves, and liquorice. The excipients are starch, sodium carboxymethyl starch, magnesium stearate, talc, and film coating premix. Functions and indications: pungent and cool in nature, clearing away heat and detoxifying. Used for wind-heat cold, fever, headache, cough, dry mouth and sore throat. (4) Niuhuang Jiedu Tablets: Bezoar, realgar, gypsum, rhubarb, scutellaria, platycodon, borneol, and liquorice. Functions and indications: Clearing away heat and detoxifying. It is used for internal heat, sore throat and gums, mouth ulcers, and red and swollen eyes. (5) Anti-cold baby Ingredients: whey protein, lactoferrin. Functions and indications: Clears away heat and dampness, cools blood and detoxifies. Used for wind-heat cold, fever, headache, cough, dry mouth, sore throat, bronchitis and other bacterial and viral infections. ▍External treatment 1. Acupuncture (1) Fengchi, Dazhui, and Hegu: First, insert the needle into Fengchi, and let the needle sensation scatter to the back of the head and temporal area. Then insert the needle into other acupoints, giving strong stimulation. Leave the needle in for 20 minutes, once a day. For severe nasal congestion, add Yingxiang and Shangxing; for headache, add Taiyang and Yintang; for sore throat, add bloodletting at Shaoshang; for cough, add Fengmen and Feishu. (2) Shaoshang, Zhongshang and Laoshang were all pricked slightly with a three-edged needle to induce bleeding. For sore throat, add Tiantu and Hegu; for headache, add Taiyang; for cough, add Shenzhu; for nasal congestion, add Yingxiang. Use moderate stimulation with filiform needles, slowly lift and insert, and use short acupuncture strokes. (3) Shaoshang, Taiyang, Feishu, Dazhui, and the hand Taiyin lung meridian: Use a sterilized three-edged needle to disinfect the Shaoshang and Taiyang points, then prick them to bleed. Apply cupping method on the Feishu and Dazhui points for 15 minutes. Use a plum blossom needle to tap along the hand Taiyin lung meridian to cause bleeding. (4) Dazhui and Ran Gu: After local skin disinfection, use a sterilized pin to prick the Dazhui point to induce bleeding, and then use cupping to remove the blood. Then use a sterilized three-edged needle to prick the Ran Gu point to induce bleeding. 2. Acupuncture Acupoints: Taiyang, Zanzhu, Fengchi, Fengfu, and Feishu. Technique: Balanced tonification and purgation, that is, use the tip of the thumb to tap 5 times, rub 5 times, tap 5 times again, and rub 5 times again. This method is used for all acupoints. 3. Plum Blossom Needle Therapy Acupoints: Fengchi, Dazhui, Hegu, Quchi, as well as the chest, back and back of the neck.
