How many months is appropriate to breastfeed?

Nowadays, more and more people are beginning to advocate breastfeeding. Breastfeeding can not only ensure the normal development of the fetus, but also promote the mother-child relationship. However, how to stop breastfeeding is a topic that troubles many people. First of all, it is not that people cannot bear to stop breastfeeding. The crying of the baby will make many people soft-hearted and thus fail to stop breastfeeding successfully, causing this problem to continue. So, in which month should the baby start weaning?

1. First of all, on the premise that there is sufficient breast milk, ensure that the child is fed with pure breast milk for the first six months. This is a precious gift for the child throughout his life. Close contact with the mother will give the child a sense of security. There are tiny fat particles in breast milk, which are easier for babies to absorb and grow stronger.

2. After 6 months, you can try to start adding complementary foods, but milk is still the staple food at this time. Complementary food, as the name suggests, is some high-iron, high-vitamin food eaten in between feedings to provide children with some extra nutrition.

3. After 9 months, the baby can add meat. At this time, the daily amount of breast milk and complementary food is almost the same. For example: one milk in the morning, one milk during lunch break, and one milk before bed. Then you can give your child a complementary meal between 9 and 10 in the morning, and only feed him/her until he/she is 80% full. Have another complementary meal around 3 pm, so that the amount of milk and complementary food for the day is optimal.

4. After one year old, children can gradually try many foods. If breast milk is still the main food, it will be difficult to meet the child's nutritional needs. In addition, it will also develop a bad habit of refusing to eat in the future. Therefore, after one year old, the baby usually has one meal of milk before going to bed at night. If the night feeding has not been stopped, he will have another meal at night. In the morning, noon and afternoon, complementary foods are mainly consumed.

5. After one and a half years old, the child can try more foods with oil and salt. At this time, breast milk is only to maintain a sense of security for the child. In fact, not only breast milk, but also hugs and companionship can give children a sense of security, so you can prepare for weaning. At this time, the baby begins to be sensible, and you can try to communicate and wean naturally. If that doesn’t work, try physical isolation.
