The baby's phlegm and dampness block the lungs, mainly because of it

It is very common for babies to have phlegm and dampness blocking the lungs in our lives. Once a baby suffers from this disease, it is not good for his health. Therefore, when a baby has phlegm and dampness blocking the lungs, he must be treated in time. So what is the situation of baby's phlegm-dampness blocking the lungs? Let's find out together!

Phlegm-dampness blocking the lungs is the name of the disease. It refers to the phlegm and dampness blocking the lungs, preventing the lung qi from descending. Symptoms include coughing with a lot of sputum, which is white and thin and easy to cough up, fullness and stuffiness in the chest, coughing aggravated by movement, wheezing and sputum, greasy or slippery white tongue coating, and a weak pulse. The prescription is Erchen Decoction.

The key points of diagnosis of this syndrome are cough with abundant sticky white sputum that is easy to cough up. When the spleen is deficient and the distribution of fluid is abnormal, water and moisture condense into phlegm, which soaks into the lungs. Or when cold and dampness invade the lungs from the outside and cause dysfunction in the distribution of fluid, the lungs cannot distribute fluid, and water accumulates and becomes phlegm and dampness, which block the lungs, causing the lung qi to rise up, resulting in coughing with a lot of phlegm, which is sticky, white and easy to cough up. A pale tongue with a greasy white coating and a slippery pulse are signs of internal obstruction by phlegm and dampness.

Phlegm-dampness obstructing the lung syndrome refers to the symptoms manifested by phlegm-dampness blocking the lung system. It is mostly caused by spleen deficiency, long-term cough damaging the lungs, or exposure to external evils such as cold and dampness.

Phlegm-dampness blocking the lungs is characterized by long-term illness and excessive phlegm, and is often not easily confused with other diseases. It should be noted that severe symptoms of phlegm-dampness and yin in the lungs often involve the heart, and are accompanied by dangerous symptoms of heart-qi deficiency, heart-yang deficiency, and even sudden loss of heart-yang. Clinical evidence should be carefully examined.

Points to note for syndrome differentiation: There are three main points to grasp:

① Cough and asthma often recur and last for a long time, which is different from a new infection caused by external pathogens invading the lungs;

②Symptoms of phlegm-dampness are prominent, i.e., there is a lot of phlegm, which is sticky, white, and easy to cough up, with greasy tongue coating, and a slippery or stringy pulse;

③Lung symptoms: cough, wheezing, chest tightness, etc.

diagnosis

① Both phlegm-dampness obstructing the lungs and wind-cold binding the lungs can cause coughing with clear, thin, white sputum.

② The main symptoms of phlegm-dampness blocking the lungs are coughing with a lot of sticky, white sputum that is easy to cough up, a greasy white tongue coating, and a slippery pulse. Most of them have phlegm diseases and are affected by cold evil or insufficient yang in the middle. The cold is generated from within, and the moisture accumulates to produce phlegm. In addition to cough, there are also symptoms of asthma and excessive cold phlegm in the body. The condition is slightly serious and the course of the disease is long.

③The main symptoms of wind-cold binding the lungs are cough with thin white sputum, nasal congestion and clear nasal discharge, thin white tongue coating, and floating and tight pulse. Because of the influence of wind and cold, there are also wind-cold external symptoms, the condition is mild and the course of the disease is short.
