Baby picking nose and nose bleeding

Baby picking nose and nose bleeding

The feeling of having a foreign body in the nose is very uncomfortable, so both adults and children will pick their noses, especially children. They have no awareness of the extent of the force and can easily use too much force, causing rupture of the nasal membrane and nosebleed. It is quite dangerous for children to have nosebleeds due to picking their noses, because the blood from the nose contains more bacteria. In addition, children like to rub and pick their noses, which makes the situation worse and even causes the nasal blood vessels to become fragile.

Baby picking nose bleeding

1. If a child often picks his nose with his hands, and his nose often bleeds or his nasal mucus is bloody, it means that the nasal cavity is infected by bacteria and viruses, that is, there is inflammation. Because the nose is uncomfortable and sometimes feels like there is something inside, he picks and rubs it, which makes the infection more serious.

2. The nasal mucosa itself secretes less or no mucus due to infection, causing the capillaries in the nasal cavity to be more fragile and prone to bleeding spots, leading to frequent nose bleeding. Some children have difficulty stopping nose bleeding, which should attract the attention of parents. It is necessary to do a routine blood test. Many children with leukemia have nose bleeding and difficulty in stopping bleeding as an early symptom.

What are the dangers of nose bleeding in babies?

1. Nosebleeds are likely to cause symptoms of anemia. Excessive blood loss in a short period of time can cause acute hemorrhagic anemia, while repeated small amounts of nosebleeds over a long period of time can cause chronic hemorrhagic anemia. Nosebleeds can also cause hemorrhagic shock, which mainly occurs in the elderly and weak because of their poor compensatory functions of the heart, lungs, and kidneys. Acute massive blood loss or persistent nosebleeds can easily lead to shock.

2. Nosebleeds can easily lead to presbycusis, the main reason of which is ischemia and hypoxia of the inner ear caused by hemorrhagic anemia. Nosebleeds cause a sudden drop in blood pressure, resulting in acute coronary artery blood supply insufficiency, which is more likely to induce or aggravate the condition in babies with existing cardiovascular dysfunction.

The nose is used for breathing. It is a very important part of every person's body. When encountering dust or haze, the nose will inevitably feel uncomfortable. You should tell your baby to wash it with clean water or wipe it with toilet paper. Never pick the nose with your hands. If the nose is broken, it will bleed profusely. Children are in the process of growing up, and excessive blood loss will have a bad effect.
