What to do if your newborn baby has diaphragm

What to do if your newborn baby has diaphragm

Because newborns are born not long ago, their respiratory organs are not fully developed. So when the baby eats too fast or inhales cold air, you can hear the baby burping, which makes many parents very worried. We all know that hiccups may seem like nothing, but they can also cause discomfort to our bodies, so we must take newborn hiccups seriously. Let’s take a look at some tips on how to easily deal with newborn hiccups.

1. A relatively quick way to treat baby hiccups is to pick up the baby, pat his back, feed him some warm water, and then stimulate the soles of his feet with your hands (you can pinch them lightly, not too hard) to make him cry and stop the sudden contraction of the diaphragm. After the baby cries a few times, the hiccups will disappear naturally.

2. If the baby just has mild hiccups, you can use your fingertips to gently tickle his lips or ears. The nerves near the lips are more sensitive, and tickling can relax the nerves, and the hiccups will disappear. Be careful not to use nails that are too long when tickling to avoid scratching the baby's delicate skin.

3. If you smell an undigested sour and rancid odor when your baby burps, it means that your baby’s digestion is not good, which is why hiccups are easily caused. You can gently massage the baby's abdomen or drink hawthorn water to help digest food, strengthen the stomach and promote ventilation. Once the baby's digestion is normal and the body is ventilated, the hiccups will stop naturally.

4. If the baby has no other diseases but suddenly hiccups, and the hiccups are loud, strong and continuous, it is likely that the baby has caught a cold. You should apply hot compresses to the chest and abdomen of the baby in time, cover the baby with a quilt when sleeping at night, and put a hot water bottle outside the quilt to keep warm in winter.

5. When a newborn baby has hiccups, in order to prevent the baby from becoming impatient, you can use some fun toys to coax him (her) or play some soft music to divert his (her) attention. This will gradually reduce the frequency of hiccups and the hiccups will slowly disappear.

6. It is important to note that if the baby hiccups for a long time or the episodes occur frequently, you should go to a regular hospital for examination and treatment to see if there are other reasons causing the persistent hiccups.

The above points are effective ways to deal with newborn hiccups. Although there is nothing wrong with hiccups, this situation will make the baby feel uncomfortable, so new mothers must not feed the baby too quickly when feeding the baby. When taking the baby out, you must do a good job of prevention to avoid hiccups caused by inhaling cold air.
