Newborn baby autumn and winter clothing guide

Newborn baby autumn and winter clothing guide

As the saying goes, cover yourself in spring and keep yourself cool in autumn. In autumn, the weather may become colder due to the drop in temperature. At this time, there is no need to add clothes in time, because adding clothes may cause getting angry. Especially for children, most newborns stay indoors, and the indoor temperature is generally relatively constant. So what clothes should newborns wear in autumn?

1. Winter clothing for newborns: underwear

Parents must not think that the baby can not wear underwear because he is young. Underwear is very important for babies. It plays the most basic and important role in keeping warm. Or you can put a bellyband on your baby, but the bellyband must be big enough to cover the entire belly, and it is best to have a bellyband that covers the legs. This way, the baby's belly won't be covered due to the baby's movements, and the blanket won't work. Of course, some people use belly bands or umbilical cord protectors, but I personally think that is not a good idea. Once the child stretches out his hands, turns around, or kicks his legs, the belly band will move up and down all over the place. Recommendation: Since the baby's skin is delicate and easily injured, the underwear must be soft and comfortable. It is best to choose cotton material because cotton underwear has good sweat absorption and breathability, and will not allow sweat to irritate the baby's delicate skin.

2. Winter clothing for newborns: cotton clothes

Don't dress your baby in two or three sweaters, as that will wrap the baby's small body tightly, which will affect the baby's activities and not keep him warm. It is better to prepare a small cotton jacket for your baby that is of appropriate thickness, soft and warm, which is both light and warm. Note: Of course, the cotton clothes must fit the body size. Don't buy too large a size just to allow him to wear it for two more years. This way he can stretch his hands outside and grab anything he wants, thus promoting the development of fine motor skills.

3. Winter Newborn Clothing: Hats

The blood vessels on the baby's head are more abundant and shallow, so they dissipate more heat. Babies should wear a warm and comfortable hat when going out in winter. This can reduce the dissipation of heat from the whole body, keep warm, and prevent babies from catching a cold due to the cold wind. Recommendation: Hats should be made of cloth as much as possible. Wool and plush hats can easily irritate the skin and cause skin infections and inflammation.

4. Winter Newborn Clothing: Socks

Prepare a few pairs of cotton or wool socks for your baby. The socks should not be too tight, but should be wide enough to allow the baby's feet to move freely. Note: Babies have a relatively active metabolism and sweat a lot, so their socks tend to be damp. Parents should change their baby's socks in time, because a humid environment can easily breed bacteria and is not easy to keep warm.

5 How to judge whether the baby is dressed appropriately

In daily life, parents can judge whether their baby’s clothes are appropriate in this way.

1. Touch the back of your baby’s neck

If you don't know whether your baby is properly dressed, you can touch the back of his neck. If it feels warm and not damp, it means he is properly dressed. If it feels damp and sweaty, it means he is overdressed. If it feels cold, it means he is underdressed.

2. Touch the baby's hands and feet

In winter, the principle is to consider the baby's amount of exercise and not to feel cold. If the baby's hands and feet are cold and the body temperature is less than 36℃, it means that the baby is not warm enough and needs more clothes. On the contrary, if the palms and soles of the feet are wet and sweaty, it means that the baby is wearing too many clothes.
