Newborn baby won't sleep after feeding

Babies have the habit of feeding before going to bed so that they can fall asleep more soundly. In order to avoid feeding the baby at night, some mothers will feed the baby enough milk in advance, but some babies will not sleep after feeding, and will not feel sleepy at all, and will still play. In fact, in this case, we should consider whether the baby sleeps too much during the day, or is too excited to sleep before going to bed, so what is going on?

1. Distinguish between day and night

Be sure to teach your baby to distinguish between day and night. When it is time for your baby to get up in the morning, place your baby in a brightly lit place and wake him up with your warm embrace or soft music. In this way, through the contrast of light and sound, the baby will be aware of the difference between night and day. Gradually, the baby will develop the habit of going to bed and getting up on time.

2. Bathing helps you sleep

Mothers can start giving their babies hot baths at about the same time every night when they feel their babies are a little sleepy. After the bath, give the baby some water or milk and put him in the crib, and the baby will fall asleep soon.

3. Small actions to take care of your baby

Some babies like to touch their mother's face or suck their fingers to fall asleep. After you understand your baby's sleeping movements, follow his habits first, and slowly your baby will fall asleep easily. Because these small movements make babies feel safe, mothers should never interfere too much.

4. Limit play time

If you want your baby to fall asleep more easily, don't let him play too much before going to bed, otherwise, he will think about playing at night and don't want to sleep. At night, mothers can play quiet games with their babies, listen to soothing music, and when they feel that the baby is a little sleepy, they should quickly coax the baby to sleep, so that the baby will fall asleep faster.

In short, babies usually have a period of activeness after feeding. They do not fall asleep immediately after eating. This is especially true for newborns who do not know how to distinguish between day and night. It is possible that they are particularly active at night and sleep during the day. It is normal for newborns not to sleep after feeding, so parents don't need to worry.
