Newborn baby development standard

Newborn baby development standard

When a newborn is three months old, the child's growth and development is relatively fast. During this period, parents should pay attention to the child's care, such as paying attention to diet, breastfeeding is best, and the child's living environment must be quiet and the air must be fresh. It can be based on the three-month developmental standards of a newborn. Let’s take a look at this aspect in light of the development of our own children.

Newborn baby development standard

Boys: height 55.3-69.0cm; weight 4.69-9.37kg; head circumference 36.7-44.6cm.

Baby girl: height 54.2-67.5cm; weight 4.40-8.71kg; head circumference 36.0-43.4cm.

Note: The above data is compiled based on the Ministry of Health's "Reference Standards for Growth and Development of Children Under 7 Years Old in China".

The baby's ability development mainly refers to:

The comprehensive development of gross motor skills, fine motor skills, vision, hearing, touch, smell, taste, language, emotions, and social skills. The focus of each baby is slightly different at each age, which is also related to the baby's own developmental characteristics. The basic skills of a 3-month-old baby include:

Skills that should be mastered (most babies can do it): Able to recognize your face and smell; able to hold the head up steadily; eyes can follow moving objects.

Developing abilities (half of the babies can do it): can scream and make "gurgle" and "coo" sounds; can blow bubbles; can recognize your voice; can do small push-ups.

Advanced abilities (only a few babies can do this): can roll over from prone to supine; when hearing a loud noise, will turn head to look for it; can put hands together and pat toys with hands.

Breastfed babies do not need to add other foods if the milk supply is sufficient. However, babies who are mixed-fed or bottle-fed should be fed once every 3-4 hours, 150ml each time, 6 times a day. The total milk intake for the whole day should not exceed 1000ml.

For babies who are mixed-fed or bottle-fed, vegetable juice and freshly squeezed fruit juice should be added in appropriate amounts to replenish the vitamin C lost during milk processing. Generally, feed twice a day, between feedings.

Breast milk is still the best food for babies for three months. It not only provides babies with rich nutrients that are easy to digest and absorb, but also helps babies resist the attacks of diseases. If you are unable to breastfeed due to work or health reasons, you can feed your baby formula milk instead of feeding him with rice soup, rice paste, or milk cakes, which are difficult for babies to digest and absorb.
