What to do if a child has a hot bump on his head

Some babies will have heat bumps on their heads. Heat bumps usually occur in summer and are caused by humidity. If parents do not pay attention to protecting their baby’s head, heat bumps will occur. In severe cases, heat bumps can cause itching, and the baby will always touch his head and cry and cannot calm down. If hot bumps appear on the head, we need to pay attention to the dryness of the baby's head and apply some simple medicines. So, what should you do if heat bumps appear on your baby’s head?

1. The external environment causes heat bumps in babies due to high temperature and high humidity. Therefore, to solve the problem of heat bumps in babies, we should first start by changing the environment.

2. The exhaust gas from cars and the heat from the outdoors emitted by air conditioners in the city undoubtedly make the city's temperature higher. Therefore, if conditions permit, you can take your baby to a cooler place to escape the heat, such as a water town in the south of the Yangtze River or a nearby summer resort, and travel at the same time.

3. If the temperature is high and the humidity in the room is high, the baby's skin will become sticky and heat rash will be aggravated. You should open windows more often for ventilation and use air conditioning for dehumidification. These are all effective practices.

4. The reason why babies get heat bumps is that their sweat glands are underdeveloped and cannot discharge all the sweat in time. Therefore, we should wipe the baby's body more often to help the baby sweat and prevent the baby's sweat glands from being blocked again, causing more sweat to be accumulated. If necessary, we should consult a doctor and use medication for treatment.

5. Next, you should prevent your baby from scratching and keep his nails short to prevent bacterial infection and worsening of the condition. An effective way is that when the baby wants to scratch because of itching, the adult can rub the baby with clean hands or apply some baby-specific cooling oil.

6. Dress your baby in loose and breathable clothes, and do not put diapers on your baby unless necessary.

7. Dry your baby's body after each bath, and then gently apply some prickly heat powder on him. Note: apply just enough and don't apply too much, otherwise it will be counterproductive. In addition, if the skin is broken, do not apply powder or use cooling oil. Just pay attention to hygiene. If you do the above points, the normal pimples will naturally disappear slowly.
