It takes several months to shoot the burps

Since babies' physiological functions are not yet perfect when they are just born, they need the help of their parents to help them grow up healthily. Burping a baby is a very technical job, because the baby cannot exchange gases freely after feeding, and it is easy for the baby to inhale milk into the respiratory tract, which will cause hiccups. If the baby burps on his own, there is a risk of choking, so he needs help from his parents. So, how many months does it usually take to burp people?

1. Lying position – suitable for feeding and sleeping at the same time

Method: The mother lies on the right side of the bed, with the left side of her back leaning against the wall or using bedding (quilt, scroll, pillow) to pad the left side behind her. Place the baby's head comfortably on the pillow, lean the midline of the body forward, spread out the right hand and let the baby's head rest on the mother's arm or bed. The mother's right hand can support the baby's back and buttocks at the same time, so that the baby's body is as close to the mother's abdomen as possible, the mouth is close to the breast, and the baby actively holds the breast. Mothers should never rush to push the nipple into the baby's mouth.

The mother's free left hand can help herself or the baby maintain the most comfortable posture, especially after bending the legs, putting a pillow or quilt in the middle will make herself feel more comfortable. If the baby needs to switch sides after drinking from one side, first move the pillow behind the mother, hug the baby with the right and left hands at the same time, roll directly to the left like a roller, and then continue to feed and sleep while feeding.

2. Cradle-style holding method - suitable for mothers and babies who are handy and have good tacit understanding.

Method: The mother sits down and holds the baby's back with one hand, making the baby's body as close to the mother's abdomen as possible. With the other hand, she holds the breast in a C-shaped grip to feed.

3. Football Hold – Suitable for women who have undergone cesarean section

Method: The mother sits down, holds the baby's shoulders and neck with her right palm open, and uses her elbows and arms to support the baby's body close to the mother, as if holding the baby under the armpits. Use her left hand to hold the breast in a C-shape so that the baby sucks the right breast. This way of holding is more suitable for women who have undergone cesarean section, as it is less likely to touch the surgical wound and cause pain. You can take turns with your left and right hands.

4. Modified football hold – suitable for mothers who are breastfeeding for the first time

Method: Hold the baby's shoulders and neck with the open palm of your right hand, use your elbows and arms to support the baby's body close to the mother, and place the baby's body horizontally on the mother's abdomen. At this time, you can add a quilt or pillow under the abdomen for support. Hold the breast with your left hand in a C-shape so that the baby sucks the left breast. This way of holding is more suitable for mothers who are breastfeeding for the first time, as it will make them feel easier to get started. You can take turns with your left and right hands.

When feeding each time, it is best to feed from both breasts alternately, that is, feed alternately each time. For example, if you feed the left side first this time, you should start feeding from the right side next time. Each breast should be fed for at least five to ten minutes so that the baby can suck the milk and the mother will not feel that one breast is particularly full.

Don't worry too much when feeding. Smart breastfeeding babies will usually automatically adjust to the appropriate position to suck milk and will never suffocate themselves. Some mothers are in the habit of using their fingers to press their breasts away from their baby's nose. This action can easily lead to mastitis.
