What to do if a 14-year-old boy has acne

It is normal for a fourteen-year-old boy to have acne. At this time, he is in puberty and his endocrine system is relatively active, so both boys and girls are prone to acne. In fact, acne during adolescence is not very serious. As long as you get through this period, acne will generally disappear on its own. Of course, you can also take some proactive measures to solve it. So, what should a 14-year-old boy do if he has acne?

Keep your face and body clean. Wash your face with a cleanser suitable for your skin type. When washing your face, gently massage the affected area to help unclog the pores. Therefore, the first and most important step in treating acne is cleansing. Facial cleansing is a necessary daily task. Patients must persist in doing it every day and cooperate with effective treatment.

Because the degree of acne varies from person to person, the severity of acne is also different. If there are many large pustules on your face, it is recommended that you buy an acne needle, prick each pimple, squeeze out the secretions inside, make sure to squeeze them clean, and then use iodine to disinfect externally. Pay attention to hygiene during this process, and hand hygiene is also very important.

Pay attention to rest and diet, eat less irritating foods, pay attention to smooth bowel movements, local cleaning, and take some antibiotics orally appropriately to prevent pus-related infections. Illness comes from the mouth. If you often stay up late and eat too much spicy food, your stomach and your body will not be able to bear it, so acne will continue to grow.

"Acne" is the common name for acne, which is called "facial pimples", "lung wind acne", "wine pimples" and so on in traditional Chinese medicine. Modern medicine believes that the cause of this disease is endocrine disorders and excessive secretion of male hormones. Traditional Chinese medicine believes that acne is located in the lungs, and the pathogenesis includes blood heat in the lung meridian and damp heat in the spleen and stomach. For example, "The Authentic Surgery" says: "Lung wind, acne, and rosacea are three synonyms. Acne belongs to the lungs, and rosacea belongs to the spleen. They are all caused by stagnant blood heat." "The Golden Mirror of the Medical Ancestral: The Secret of Surgery" says: "Lung wind and acne are caused by blood heat in the lung meridian. They always occur on the nose and face, with broken lumps shaped like millet crumbs, red, swollen and painful, and white powdery juice comes out when they break. Over time, they all turn into white flakes. It is advisable to take loquat lung-clearing drink internally and apply diandao powder externally, and the symptoms will subside slowly." It can be treated with methods of clearing heat, promoting dampness, and cooling blood.

Acne is a persistent and difficult disease to cure, and treatment is tricky. Acupuncture has advantages in treating acne, including papule-shaped, pustular-shaped, and persistent acne. The method is as follows: Use a 0.5-inch filiform needle to shallowly puncture the center of the papules and blisters on the affected area, about two fen deep. Select Hegu, Sanyinjiao, and Taichong as the body acupuncture points, and use equal tonification and drainage. Leave the needle in for 30 minutes. It is better to let the herpes bleed a small amount after removing the needle.
