What should I do if my baby has gastroenteritis and vomits but not diarrhea?

In life, because some babies' bodies have not yet fully matured, their resistance to external diseases is quite poor. If they are not careful, they may suffer from some diseases. Especially in recent times, the weather has gradually turned colder. If you take your children out without dressing them in thick clothes, their stomachs may not be able to bear it and they may suffer from gastroenteritis. So what should I do if my baby has gastroenteritis and can't vomit?

1. Comfort your baby.

I have to say that the baby must be feeling very uncomfortable at this moment, with an upset stomach and probably also uncomfortable in the butt due to diarrhea. The mother should be as gentle and patient as possible to give the baby spiritual comfort. Don't think that the baby is too small to feel it. Hold the baby more and coax him more so that he won't be hysterical and waste energy on crying.

2. Stop feeding complementary food.

Many babies over one year old suffer from enteritis due to food. They either eat unclean food or eat too much at one time and cannot digest it. Never enrich the complementary food just because your baby has diarrhea and want to supplement his nutrition.

3. Eat a light diet.

During the period of enteritis, the baby's digestive system is also relatively disordered, and many high-nutrition foods cannot be digested. It is best to eat some porridge, and try not to add minced meat and other indigestible foods to the porridge. If you are still breastfeeding, the mother should try to eat light food.

4. Remember to replenish water.

As the baby's bowel movements increase, a large amount of water is also lost from the body. It is important to drink an appropriate amount of warm water after each excretion, and you can also add a little salt to replenish the sodium lost in the body.

5. Observe your body temperature at all times.

Baby enteritis will also be accompanied by fluctuations in body temperature, which will generally be repeated. Measure the temperature at any time. If the baby keeps crying and the temperature remains high, it is best to go to the hospital for diagnosis and do not delay the disease.

6. Special treatment when necessary.

If the mother is really worried about the baby's condition, especially if the amount of excretion is huge, some babies may even defecate half a basin at a time, it is safer to go to the hospital for treatment in time. In addition, some essential medicines for chronic and acute diarrhea in children can also be given to babies in appropriate amounts under the guidance of a doctor, which can relieve or cure the above symptoms.
