Every child is a treasure in the eyes of his or her parents. Parents would like to pick the stars and the moon in the sky and make toys for them. But in life, since children are more naughty, they will inevitably bump into things. What should you do when a child accidentally hits his or her head? I believe that many parents' first reaction is to go to the hospital. In fact, you might as well try the following methods to solve the problem of bumps on children's heads. Children are lively and active by nature, so bumps and bruises are inevitable. When someone bumps into something, people will subconsciously rub it. Parents do this to soothe their children's emotions and believe that it can promote blood circulation, relieve pain, and reduce swelling sooner. But little do people know that this well-intentioned action actually hides harm: the scalp has rich blood supply and is closely connected to the skull and brain. Rubbing the scalp randomly may cause rupture or infection, causing greater harm to the child. The correct way to deal with a bump on a child's head is: Apply pressure with a bandage or cloth strip, apply hemostatic and swelling-reducing drugs or apply ice in time. If the swelling still cannot be reduced, you should go to the hospital for examination to rule out skull or brain injuries; if the scalp is damaged and bleeding, the wound should be cleaned and bandaged, anti-inflammatory drugs should be taken, and tetanus antitoxin should be injected; if the scalp hematoma is difficult to subside, further tests for thrombin, platelets, etc. should be conducted to rule out hemophilia and thrombocytopenic diseases; if there are symptoms such as headache, vomiting, confusion, etc., a head CT or X-ray examination should be done in time. Avoid rubbing hard to avoid delaying the treatment. To apply ice, you can follow the following method: ① Dry cold compress method. Put half a bag of crushed ice (or ice water or cold water) into a rubber ice bag (or rubber gloves and other substitutes), tie the bag tightly, and separate the ice bag from the skin with a towel, cloth, etc. The interval between cold compresses is generally 1-2 hours, 20 minutes each time, and it can be effective multiple times a day. ② Wet cold compress method. Soak two small towels or gauze in a basin of cold water (if there is ice, put in ice cubes, if there is no ice, use freshly drawn well water), take them out in turn, wring them until they are half dry, and apply them to the affected area. Change the compress every 4 to 5 minutes, apply for 20 to 30 minutes each time, and apply multiple times a day. If the injured hand or foot, you can also soak the injured hand or foot directly in cold water, and each time should not exceed 15 minutes. |
