Why is the baby's neck soft?

We all know that when babies are young, mothers will choose to let them lie flat, because lying flat can not only make the baby's body quality, but also exercise the baby's neck. When the baby is two or three months old, the baby will be held upright. At this time, the baby's neck can become harder and can support his head. What is the reason for the baby's soft neck?

There are two possible reasons for this situation: one is calcium deficiency, and the other is that the baby's neck muscles are not good and lack strength. This situation is easy to correct. First, take your child to the hospital to check whether he or she is calcium deficient, and then treat it according to the results of the examination. Everyday you should consciously exercise your child’s neck muscles and practice more prone movements. I would also like to remind you not to take juice or milk and calcium supplements together. They should be taken at a certain interval to facilitate absorption.

Symptoms of calcium deficiency include difficulty falling asleep or entering a deep sleep, crying after falling asleep, easy to wake up, sweating after falling asleep, paroxysmal abdominal pain, diarrhea, cramps, sternum pain, "X"-shaped legs, "O"-shaped legs, pigeon chest, gray or white nails or white marks, anorexia and picky eating, irritability and restlessness during the day, delayed intellectual development and speaking, late learning to walk, starting after 13 months, late teething, 10 months after teething, sparse, irregular, and loose teeth, black pointed or serrated teeth, sparse hair, poor health and easy to catch a cold, etc.

Within one or two months, the baby's neck will be soft and unable to lift the head because the neck muscles and bones are not well developed. This is normal. Generally, the baby will be able to lift his head after the development is good after two months. If the baby still cannot lift his head after more than three months, he should be exercised more and given calcium supplements.

The neck muscles of a newborn are still very weak and of course very soft. Generally, they will become hard and the head can be held upright only after three months. Don't be anxious.

Newborns are like this, which is normal. Generally, they can lift their heads around three months old, and their necks will become relatively stiff. If they still cannot lift their heads at four months old, you should pay attention to check what is causing it.
