Why does it hurt when a boy urinates?

First, why does it hurt when boys urinate? Painful urination in men refers to pain in the urethra, bladder, and perineum when urinating. The pain can be mild or severe, often feeling like a burning pain, and in severe cases it can feel like a knife cutting. Painful urination in men may be caused by a urinary tract infection. Generally speaking, for men, painful urination is more likely to be caused by a prostate infection. It is recommended that men check their urine when they experience painful urination. If there is obvious blood in the urine, it may be a serious urinary tract infection.

Second, little boys experience pain when urinating, which is usually a sign of urinary tract infection. Urinary tract infection refers to inflammation caused by pathogens growing and multiplying in the urinary tract and invading the urinary tract mucosa or tissue. It is the most common type of bacterial infection. Urinary tract infection is divided into upper urinary tract infection and lower urinary tract infection. Upper urinary tract infection refers to pyelonephritis, and lower urinary tract infection includes urethritis and cystitis.

Third, urinary tract infection can be divided into upper urinary tract infection and lower urinary tract infection. The former is pyelonephritis and the latter is mainly cystitis. Pyelonephritis and cystitis can be divided into acute and chronic types. Depending on the presence or absence of underlying diseases, urinary tract infections can be divided into complicated urinary tract infections and uncomplicated urinary tract infections. Chronic pyelonephritis is often caused by protracted complicated urinary tract infection. It is divided into three types according to the underlying cause: ① chronic pyelonephritis with reflux (reflux nephropathy); ② chronic pyelonephritis with obstruction (obstructive chronic pyelonephritis); ③ idiopathic chronic pyelonephritis. The first two types are particularly common.

Cystitis: commonly referred to as lower urinary tract infection. The main manifestation of cystitis in adult women is urinary tract irritation, i.e. frequent urination, urgency, pain, leukocytosis, occasional hematuria, even macroscopic hematuria, and discomfort in the bladder area. Generally there are no obvious systemic infection symptoms, but a few patients may have low back pain, low fever (generally not exceeding 38°C), and the white blood cell count is often not increased. About 30% of cystitis is self-limiting and can heal itself within 7 to 10 days.
