What to do if baby has eczema on genitals

The skin of a newborn baby is still very fragile. Due to improper diet or air conditions, many newborn babies will develop eczema. Most babies' eczema appears on the face, and occasionally on the body. However, some parents find that their baby also has eczema on the lower body. The baby's lower body is very non-breathable and it is easy to develop eczema. So what should parents do if their baby has eczema on his lower body?

1. Causes and symptoms:

01 If the child's vulva has itching, burning, pain, and odor, which worsens after activity or urination. This can generally be determined as vulvar eczema in children.

02 There are three reasons for vulvar eczema in children. First, there is the possibility of urinary tract infection. Second, due to poor cleaning and hygiene, the vulva of little girls is often exposed and prone to infection. Third, this phenomenon will also occur when the child has too much internal heat.

2. Treatment methods:

01 Take some amoxicillin and Qinghuobao for treatment, plus oral antibiotics, the effect will be quicker. If the attack still occurs, it is recommended to receive intravenous anti-inflammatory treatment. Also, drink more water and eat less spicy food.

02 When cleaning the vulva, use a soft, pure cotton towel to wash it, and wipe the buttocks from front to back. It is best to use light salt water or PP powder to wash it. Generally, wash it once every 2-3 days, and should be washed with cold boiled water first, and then with light salt boiled water. Do not wash it too frequently, as frequent washing will increase the risk of infection.

03 Change your child’s living habits and stop letting him/her wear pants that expose his/her vulva to prevent further contact with bacteria.

3. The problem of baby eczema. There are many causes of eczema. The four-month-old baby is still breastfed, so the mother should try to eat less spicy seafood and other foods that are likely to cause eczema. If the baby is bottle-fed, you can consider choosing desensitizing milk powder. Eczema needs to avoid moisture as much as possible, so the baby's diapers should be changed frequently.

When treating some skin diseases such as eczema, you must choose the medicine reasonably. It is best not to use topical ointments because many of them contain hormones. Hormone treatment can only suppress and cannot cure the root cause. It is recommended that you use traditional Chinese medicine such as ephedra, siler, halberd, schizonepeta, black-necked snake, whole insect, centipede, angelica dahurica, mint, asarum, cnidium monnieri, Korean ginseng, agarwood, and golden jingcao in combination with treatment. These traditional Chinese medicines have the effects of clearing blood heat, removing blood dryness, attacking blood toxins, replenishing internal deficiency, nourishing the stomach and spleen, soothing the liver and regulating qi. After years of clinical differentiation, they have unique effects in treating eczema, especially. The combined use of these traditional Chinese medicines can promote skin cell metabolism, repair damaged skin cells, slow down the aging of skin cells, and restore skin vitality and elasticity.
