Can children's pityriasis alba heal on its own?

The health of the baby is always on the minds of parents, but because children are young and their physical development is not yet complete, problems can easily occur. Pityriasis alba in children is a common skin disease in children. It is mainly distributed on the face of children and is accompanied by itching and peeling symptoms. Regarding pityriasis alba in children, many parents have doubts. Can pityriasis alba in children heal itself?

A parasitic infection (roundworm)

Traditional Chinese medicine often diagnoses this disease as roundworms in the child's body, which is also the main source of infection for children. Ascaris eggs mainly enter the human body through hands and food. Babies like to eat food with their hands, suck their fingers, and put some unclean toys in their mouths; roundworm eggs are especially likely to be hidden in the cracks between babies' nails, which can easily cause infection.

In this case, oral anthelmintics should be used for insecticidal treatment under the guidance of a pediatrician. It is best to keep the baby's hands and skin clean every day.

2. Malnutrition and vitamin deficiency

Malnutrition and vitamin deficiency are also the causes of white pityriasis in children. Most of the simple pityriasis seen in clinical practice is caused by vitamin deficiency caused by children's partial diet and not eating vegetables and fruits.

Care: Eat more vegetables and fruits to get enough vitamins. Once this type of ringworm occurs, you should use a non-irritating facial cream under the guidance of a dermatologist, and avoid eating chili peppers, raw onions, and raw garlic.

Ultraviolet rays can cause white pityriasis

In spring, especially in March and April, solar radiation suddenly increases. Some people whose melanin has not been fully produced or who have fair skin cannot adapt to sunlight immediately. At this time, ultraviolet rays can penetrate the epidermis into the dermis, causing dilation of small blood vessels in the cheeks. The occurrence of this disease is also related to personal allergy to ultraviolet rays.

Care: Mothers must take meticulous care of their baby's skin, cleanse, moisturize and protect the skin. When going out in winter and spring, mothers must apply skin cream to the baby to add a layer of protective film for the baby's skin.

How do parents identify pityriasis alba in children?

When children first develop pityriasis alba, they appear as a few isolated, round or oval pink or pale spots with unclear borders that may gradually expand or increase in number. The lesions often occur on the face, especially on the cheeks, and occasionally on the neck and upper arms. There is no special feeling when suffering from "ringworm", sometimes it may feel a little itchy. There are often 4-5 or more light-colored spots with a diameter of 1-4 mm on the face at the same time. The surface is dry and covered with a small amount of grayish white fine scales. For babies with darker skin or tanned skin, light spots will appear more obvious in comparison with their own skin.
