What should I do if my child has pharyngitis and fever?

Children always don’t like to drink water. When the weather is dry, they often suffer from diseases such as pharyngitis. At this time, they will not only have symptoms of redness, swelling and pain in the throat, but also fever. Children often refuse to drink water because of the discomfort in their throats, and they will cry a lot, making the condition more serious. So, what should we do at this time? What should we pay attention to?

The main thing is to actively control the infection and add corticosteroids to quickly reduce laryngeal edema and keep the airway open. At the same time, keep the child quiet, avoid crying and making a fuss, allow the vocal cords to rest, and reduce oxygen consumption. Treatment of laryngitis in children should focus on:

1. Get enough rest and drink plenty of water.

2. Pay attention to your condition and go to the hospital immediately if you experience high fever, ear pain, worsening cough, difficulty breathing, drowsiness, etc.

3. Reduce fever. If the body temperature exceeds 38 degrees, use physical methods to reduce it in time, such as wiping the forehead with a warm, wet towel. If the body temperature exceeds 38.5 degrees, you can take antipyretics appropriately.

4. Don’t abuse antibiotics. If there are no complications such as otitis media or pneumonia, antibiotics are not recommended.

6. Traditional Chinese medicines such as Isatis root and Ginseng root; antiviral drugs in Western medicine, such as ribavirin.

7. Eat some honey-stewed pears appropriately. Honey-steamed pear water is a food with medicinal effects made by peeling and coreing the pears, adding honey and steaming them in a steamer. Steamed pear with honey tastes delicious and can nourish yin, promote body fluid, moisten dryness and quench thirst. Nourish the five internal organs and dry mouth and tongue will naturally disappear soon. Honey is sweet and neutral in nature. It enters the lung, spleen, and large intestine meridians. It has the effects of nourishing the middle, moistening dryness, relieving pain and detoxifying; it is used for physical weakness, cough due to dry lungs, constipation due to dry intestines, epigastric pain, nasal sinusitis, mouth ulcers, burns caused by hot water or fire, and detoxifying Aconitum.

When children suffer from pharyngitis due to getting angry and have fever, make sure they drink more boiled water. They can also drink some rock sugar and pear water, which is very effective in relieving sore throat. At the same time, pay attention to antibacterial and anti-inflammatory treatment for your child. If there are symptoms of fever, but the body temperature is not too high, there is no need to take antipyretics, physical cooling can be sufficient.
