What should I do if my one-year-old child gets scalded?

One-year-old children are very active. Parents must be careful and cautious when taking care of their babies, especially things like kettles, which must be placed out of the baby's reach. If the baby is accidentally scalded, if the scald is serious, if blisters, pain, and swelling appear locally, the baby needs to be taken to the hospital in time. Never give the baby any medicine at will.

How to treat burns on children?

Treatment of burns:

First rinse the injured area with cold water, and then soak the injured area in cold water for half an hour. Generally speaking, the earlier the soaking time and the lower the water temperature (not lower than 5℃ to avoid frostbite), the better the effect. However, if the injured area has blistered and broken, do not soak it to prevent infection.

Treatment of burns 2:

Gently apply light salt water to the burned area to reduce inflammation.

Treatment of burns 3:

Apply soy sauce, honey, lard, dog fat, or ginger juice to the injured area.

Treatment of burns 4:

Mix egg white, cooked honey or sesame oil and apply to the injured area to relieve inflammation and pain.

Treatment of burns 5:

Cut a few slices of raw pear and apply them to the burn area, which has astringent and analgesic effects.

Treatment of burns 6:

After a child is scalded, boil 25 grams of black beans with water to make a thick juice, and apply it to the wound, which is effective.

Treatment of burns 7:

For mild burns, you can roast dry tea leaves over fire until they are slightly charred, grind them into powder, mix them with vegetable oil to make a paste, and apply it to the injured area to reduce swelling and relieve pain.

Treatment of burns 8:

When the skin of hands or feet is scalded, immediately pour alcohol into a basin or bucket and immerse the entire injured area in the alcohol. This will relieve pain, reduce redness and prevent blistering. If soaked for 1 to 2 hours, the scalded skin will gradually return to normal.

If the injured area is not in a location that is easily soaked, you can soak a piece of cotton wool in white wine, take it out and apply it to the injured area, and pour wine on the cotton wool at any time to prevent it from drying out. Good results can be achieved after several hours.

Treatment of burns 9:

When the skin is burned by oil or boiling water, you can apply Fengyoujing, Wanhua Oil or vegetable oil (such as sesame oil) directly to the wound surface. If the skin is not broken, the pain can usually be relieved in 5 minutes.

Treatment of burns 10:

Apply chloramphenicol eye ointment to the injured area, which will reduce swelling and relieve pain in a few minutes.

How to deal with scalds from boiling water

After being scalded by boiling water, you can choose the normal scald treatment procedure. But there are some things to note.

1. Do not use ice to cool the wound, so as to avoid the low temperature causing the damaged wound to worsen.

2. Do not apply toothpaste immediately after being scalded. Toothpaste prevents the heat from the skin from dissipating, which will cause the heat to spread to the subcutaneous tissue and cause deeper damage.

3. Do not use soy sauce to treat wounds. Because soy sauce has no therapeutic function, and the color of soy sauce can affect the doctor's diagnosis.

If you are scalded by boiling water, it is recommended to use scientific methods to treat the wound. In addition, you can refer to some folk remedies.

1. Cold water treatment. First rinse the wound with cold water, then soak the wound in cold water for half an hour. Under normal circumstances, the earlier the soaking time, the lower the water temperature, but it should not be lower than 8 degrees Celsius to avoid frostbite. The earlier you treat the wound, the better the effect. However, if blisters form and break, soaking is not recommended to avoid infection.

2. Gently apply light salt water to the burned area to reduce inflammation.

3. Mix egg white, cooked honey or sesame oil and apply it to the wound, which has anti-inflammatory and analgesic effects.

Note: Some folk remedies for treating scalds from boiling water have not been scientifically verified. Be sure to consult a doctor before use and use with caution.
