Why does the child cough?

Why do children’s coughs never go away? There are many reasons why children cough. If there is no blind medicine for the cause, it will delay the disease. Therefore, when a child has repeated and long-term coughing, he should go to the hospital as soon as possible to find out the cause and receive symptomatic treatment. Causes of inflammation: such as bronchial infection, pneumonia, tuberculosis, etc., can be treated with symptomatic anti-inflammatory and sputum treatment; Allergies: Many coughs are not related to allergies, therefore, it is recommended that children who cough frequently be checked for allergens and undergo anti-allergic treatment.

Experts believe that children's cough is a protective respiratory reflex action of the human body. Coughs caused by colds, wind-heat, wind-cold, dryness, or deficiency of the lung and spleen are more common.

1. Classification according to the course of disease

According to the course of the disease, it can be divided into acute cough, subacute cough and chronic cough.

2. How to distinguish between wind-cold and wind-heat coughs

Wind-cold cough: Characteristics: cough, itchy throat, clear sputum, nasal congestion and clear nasal discharge, etc., and the tongue coating is white. The treatment should be to clear the lungs, dispel the cold and relieve the cough.

Wind-heat cough: Characteristics: cough, yellow and sticky sputum, turbid nasal discharge, red throat and dry mouth, etc., and the tongue coating is yellow and red. The treatment is suitable for dispelling wind and heat, resolving phlegm and relieving cough.

3. Different causes

1. Cough caused by upper respiratory tract infection: When the upper respiratory tract infection occurs, the nasal mucosa is already inflamed. If dry air is inhaled, the nasal cavity will become more uncomfortable and the cough will be aggravated.

2. Cough caused by bronchitis: Go to the hospital for treatment and take pediatric cough suppressants prescribed by the doctor. Children should not eat foods that are too sweet or too salty, otherwise it will aggravate night coughs.

3. Cough caused by pharyngitis: In this case, parents cannot solve the problem by themselves at home. They should seek medical attention in time and ask the doctor to make a clear diagnosis and provide symptomatic treatment.

4. Allergic cough: Be careful not to let your child catch a cold. Go to the hospital to consult a doctor. For children with a family history of asthma or other allergic diseases, special attention should be paid to cough, and they should seek medical treatment as soon as possible, get a clear diagnosis, and actively treat it to prevent it from developing into asthma.
