The first feeling when a rash appears on the body is itching. It itches from time to time, and sometimes you even want to scratch it hard. It is common to scratch the rash, resulting in a red spot appearing on the body frequently. Adults with herpes will restrain themselves and not scratch themselves, but children with herpes will not do so. They will definitely scratch any itchy area. Once parents discover that their child has herpes, they must take the child to treatment in time. So what are the symptoms of herpes in children? 1. Chickenpox is caused by the initial infection with the virus, which is more common in susceptible people who have never been infected with the virus and therefore have no immunity to it, mainly children, especially infants over 6 months old and preschool children. 2. There are red, slightly raised areas on the skin around the mouth, with a tingling or itching sensation. Small, painful yellow blisters form after 1 day. 3. After a few days, small blisters will form scabs. During the first attack, there may be symptoms such as fever and general discomfort. If the child's herpes occurs near the eyes and begins to exude or spread. See a doctor as soon as possible. Children with herpes simplex should be diagnosed and treated promptly, and they should be well cared for in daily life. After that, children with herpes will gain immunity and generally will not get chickenpox again throughout their lives. However, a small number of patients may develop shingles when their body's immunity is weakened. After an episode of shingles, it generally does not recur. Herpes refers to a disease caused by viruses of the herpesviridae family. Currently, there are eight viruses in the herpesviridae family (herpes simplex virus types 1 and 2, varicella-zoster virus, human cytomegalovirus, Epstein-Barr virus and human herpes virus types 6, 7, and 8) that are known to cause human diseases. These viruses are collectively referred to as human herpesviruses (HHVs). HHV is a group of medium-sized enveloped DNA viruses that can cause a variety of diseases in humans and can remain latent in the body for a long time, causing recurrent infection under certain conditions. Common clinical diseases include chickenpox, shingles, herpes simplex, and genital herpes. It can invade multiple organs of the human body and can occur at any age. Herpes viruses have the following common characteristics: ① The virus is spherical, and the surface of the viral nucleocapsid is a symmetrical icosahedron composed of 162 shell particles, inside which is a core composed of DNA. There is a lipoprotein envelope around the nucleocapsid, and the outer diameter of the virus is 150 to 200 nm. ②Except for Epstein-Barr virus, all viruses can replicate in the diploid cell nucleus, and eosinophilic inclusion bodies appear in the nucleus. ③The virus can spread directly through intercellular bridges. Herpes viruses mainly invade tissues of ectodermal origin, including skin, mucous membranes and neural tissue. There are three subfamilies of herpes viruses: α, β, and γ. |
