Symptoms of baby allergy to egg white

Some babies have allergic constitutions, and eating egg white will cause allergic reactions, which is worrying for parents. At this time, the baby will often have some intestinal symptoms, such as nausea and vomiting causing abdominal distension, which often causes diarrhea. In addition, it will cause skin eczema leading to urticaria or vascular edema, etc. These symptoms have a relatively large impact on the baby. On the one hand, you should pay attention to allergic foods, and on the other hand, desensitization should be carried out in time.

Symptoms of baby allergy to egg white

1. Gastrointestinal symptoms: nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, bloating, diarrhea, mucous or watery stools. Some babies may also develop allergic gastritis, enteritis, celiac disease, etc.

2. Skin symptoms: skin congestion, eczema, itching, urticaria, angioedema. These symptoms are most likely to appear on the face, neck, ears and other parts of the body.

3. Neurological symptoms: such as headache, dizziness, etc. More serious cases may also include a sharp drop in blood pressure, loss of consciousness, difficulty breathing and even anaphylactic shock.

What to do if you are allergic to protein

For some common protein allergies, such as egg and milk allergies, we can take the following methods to alleviate the allergy.

1. Avoid allergic stimulation and degrade allergic antibodies. If the allergen is very clear, you should completely stop eating that food, that is, completely avoid allergenic ingredients in the diet of allergic people. Some foods can be tried after about 3 years of not eating them, and many patients may no longer experience allergic symptoms. This may be because the antibodies to the original food allergens in the body have gradually degraded.

2. Oral desensitization therapy. For example, if you are allergic to eggs, dilute an egg to 100 times or more than 1000 times, eat one portion, and if no symptoms occur, increase the amount day by day; or eat a small amount once or twice a week and gradually increase the amount. In short, the amount of increase should be within the range that does not cause the occurrence of allergic symptoms. After several weeks or months, some patients can tolerate the amount of food consumed by normal people. But it should be noted that you should avoid eating large amounts in the future to prevent recurrence.

Common foods that cause protein allergies

Common high-protein food allergies include milk, eggs, soybeans, wheat, nuts, peanuts, fish and shellfish.

The main component of poultry eggs (hen eggs, quail eggs and egg products) that causes allergies is ovalbumin in egg white. The allergen of ovalbumin has poor heat resistance, and the chance of inducing allergies in poultry eggs that have been treated at high temperatures can be significantly reduced.

Milk allergy is very common among infants. In addition to not drinking milk, people with milk allergies should also try to avoid eating dairy products such as cheese curd, yogurt, lactose-free milk and cream cakes. In order to enhance the body's nutrition, patients can only switch to other foods instead, such as drinking soy milk and soy milk (they are formulas made with soybeans as raw materials and contain neither lactose nor milk protein).
