Early symptoms of childhood mental illness

First, childhood schizophrenia. The incidence of schizophrenia in children is relatively low, but once the disease occurs, the harm will gradually increase as the patient ages. Generally speaking, the symptoms of schizophrenia in children are not obvious in the early stages, and they may only have slight abnormalities in emotions and behaviors. Second, children with ADHD. The incidence of ADHD in children is very high, but many people do not know that this disease falls into the category of mental illness. It can be seen in the fetal period that the patient is hyperactive, impulsive, has difficulty concentrating, and has poor self-control. What are the causes of mental illness?

First, genetic factors are an important cause of mental illness. Our clinical research shows that genetic factors play a certain role in the occurrence of mental illness. According to the investigation, it was found that the incidence rate among the close relatives of patients with this disease was several times higher than that of the general population. The closer the blood relationship with the patient, the higher the incidence of schizophrenia. Research on twins has shown that the disease rate in monozygotic twins is 4-6 times higher than that in dizygotic twins. The same is true for foster children. It is one of the causes of mental illness.

Second, another important cause of mental illness is the patient's endocrine factors. Experts explained to us that many mental illnesses occur during the period of sexual maturity around puberty, and some patients develop acute onset after childbirth. The incidence of psychiatric causes of this disease is also higher during the menopausal stage. Many scholars have also suspected that dysfunction of the thyroid, gonads, adrenal cortex and pituitary gland is the cause of this disease. However, research in these areas has failed to reach definitive conclusions.

Third, some factors of the patient themselves are also factors of the disease. For example, some patients have personality traits such as being withdrawn or sensitive. People who suffer from schizophrenia due to poor logical thinking before the disease account for 50% to 60% of schizophrenia patients. Domestic data analysis found that 40% of patients had timid, hesitant, poor initiative, and strong dependence before the disease.

Generally speaking, mentally ill patients need our good care, and every life is worthy of our respect and care. We must respect life and cherish life. We need to be more patient with mentally ill patients and provide them with correct guidance. Of course, these activities should be carried out under the premise of their own health and safety.
