What should I do if my child's vision is declining?

If a child has a decline in vision, parents must pay attention and help them correct the problem in a timely manner. You can take your baby to the hospital for a comprehensive examination to understand the vision condition and correct the child's bad sitting habits.

1. What is certain is that the child may have refractive errors, including the possibility of amblyopia, and even fundus disease, so it is necessary to go to the hospital's ophthalmology department for a specific examination. A child's vision loss is not necessarily caused by myopia. Many factors need to be considered. The so-called pseudomyopia refers to the early stage of a child's myopia, that is, ciliary muscle spasm myopia or high hyperopia, which makes it difficult to see far. This concept is vague but is still in use.

2. Moderate to severe hyperopia will result in poor vision both near and far. If the child has congenital defects or acquired fundus diseases, or has problems with the anterior segment of the eye (cornea, lens), or even problems with the refractive medium in the eyeball (intraocular vitreous body), it will cause the child's vision to deteriorate. Simply talking about the refractive issue, when a child has myopia, his distance vision is poor but his near vision is very good. When a child has high hyperopia, his distance vision will be poor but his near vision will also be poor. Or when a child has myopia, his distance vision is poor but his near vision may be good. Of course, the child's eye accommodation function is very strong. When myopia occurs, the distance vision can reach 1.0, but the near vision is also good.

3. This requires taking the child to a professional pediatric ophthalmologist or ophthalmologist to check the refractive state of the child's eyes, correct the child's refractive state, and discover the child's eye problems in time.
