What should I do if my baby doesn't have enough milk and doesn't want to eat milk powder?

We all know that many mothers now adopt the method of breastfeeding, because breastfed babies have higher resistance than formula-fed babies, and breastfeeding can bring mothers and children closer. However, some mothers have poor physical constitutions, which will cause the baby to not have enough milk. However, some picky children do not eat formula. So what should I do if the baby does not eat enough milk and does not eat formula?

(1) Let the baby come into contact with milk early, start sucking early, and suck the nipple more. International clinical studies have confirmed that within 1 week to 2 months after delivery, under normal circumstances, the lactation of healthy mothers mainly relies on the sucking stimulation of the baby to promote the increase of pituitary prolactin secretion and the decrease of pituitary prolactin inhibitory factor secretion. Therefore, despite being physically and mentally exhausted after delivery, it is best to insist on feeding the baby within 30 minutes after delivery. Letting the baby suck the breast as soon as possible will stimulate the breast to secrete milk as soon as possible. At the same time, it is best to sleep in the same room with the baby, so that the mother can let the baby suck the breast frequently. Repeated and irregular sucking can help stimulate the mother's brain to secrete and release prolactin.

(2) In addition, the number of breastfeeding sessions should be increased, and the mother should breastfeed frequently, including at night. If the baby cries, the mother should pick him up and feed him. This will also promote the secretion of prolactin in the mother's body and increase the amount of milk secretion.

(3) When the milk supply is insufficient in the early stages of breastfeeding, especially within one month after the baby is born, you should try not to use a bottle to breastfeed, so as to avoid the baby developing nipple illusion and refusing to suck breast milk.

(4) Correct incorrect feeding positions and sucking postures to ensure full and effective sucking.

(5) Prolong the baby's sucking time. Each breast can be fed for 5 to 15 minutes each time. Because the breast milk let-down reflex takes at least 3 minutes, 75% is emptied within 5 minutes and 90% is emptied within 10 minutes. Both breasts should be emptied during each feeding, emptying one side first and then the other. Then the milk supply will be greater. You are more likely to suck out the high-calorie "hind milk". Each breastfeeding time should be 15 to 20 minutes, and no longer than 30 minutes. Because longer feeding time can make the newborn develop a habit of eating slowly, which is not conducive to promoting milk secretion.

(6) Feed from both breasts each time. Switching sides about 2 to 3 times each time can arouse the baby's interest and allow the baby to get roughly equal amounts of sufficient breast milk from both breasts. The baby can get both foremilk and hindmilk, which is nutritionally complete. This will not only help your baby's growth and weight gain, but also help increase your milk secretion.

If your baby doesn't want to drink milk powder, you can change to another brand. The tastes of milk powder are different. If your baby doesn't want to drink this brand of milk powder, you may get used to it by changing to another brand. If your baby really doesn't accept milk powder, you can also give him some goat milk powder, which is more conducive to digestion and absorption. In addition, you can also add some glucose or mate to the milk powder to change the taste of the milk powder and let the baby slowly adapt to it. You can add milk powder when the baby is hungry and try it repeatedly. Mothers must be patient and the baby will slowly like the milk powder.

Babies cannot live without milk powder. If they rely solely on breast milk, their bodies will become deficient in nutrition. Therefore, we want our babies to love drinking milk powder.
