What should I do if my two-year-old baby has cavities?

Tooth decay is a common phenomenon in many children. Tooth decay in the mouth causes great harm to the child's oral cavity, and it is very painful after tooth decay. The pain makes people very uncomfortable. Some children have already started to have tooth decay when they are only two or three years old. Parents are very anxious. So what is the reason for tooth decay and what should we do about it?

Many babies like to drink milk at night before going to sleep, but milk powder is sweet, which is conducive to the growth of bacteria. The second is that they eat too slowly. It takes one or two hours to finish a meal. Some children like to hold food in their mouths, which causes too much food residue to remain in the deciduous teeth, which can easily ferment and produce acid, eroding the teeth and causing caries, leading to bacterial growth. Third, they consume a lot of sugar and like to drink carbonated drinks. For the first and second reasons, you can protect your teeth by brushing, but carbonated drinks need to be consumed less or even with caution.

If a child has cavities in his or her deciduous teeth, he or she should be taken to the hospital for treatment, and the sooner the better. If the cavity is shallow and small, it can be filled once. Otherwise, the cavities will grow from small to large and from shallow to deep. It then invades the dental nerve, causing unbearable pain. In addition, untreated caries may continue to develop and even be combined with local infection, causing facial swelling, fever, swollen lymph nodes, etc., resulting in adverse consequences. Sometimes children have severe tooth decay, with only the tooth root left and repeated redness, swelling and inflammation. In this case, the only option is to extract the bad tooth. If teeth are not filled in time, it will cause difficulty in chewing, spontaneous pain, acute tooth inflammation, and affect the subsequent growth of permanent teeth. Parents should pay attention and check their children's teeth regularly. If they find that the teeth have become black or have small holes, they should see a doctor so that early detection and treatment can be carried out.

It is recommended that parents should pay attention to their children's oral hygiene. They should rinse their mouths in time after meals and brush their teeth every morning and evening, especially at night. Do not eat before going to bed, and do not eat too sweet food. Otherwise, it is easy to get cavities in the mouth because there will be a lot of dental bacteria remaining in it. If there is cavities, it must be treated in time.
