What are the diets for children with autumn diarrhea?

Many people who have been parents may know that diarrhea in children is a very common pediatric disease. Especially in autumn, the symptoms of diarrhea in children will generally worsen. Many parents have tried many kinds of folk remedies to treat diarrhea in children, but they may not have received very satisfactory results, which not only makes the babies very painful, but also causes headaches for adults. So what are the diets for children with diarrhea in autumn? Let me explain to you below.

Five dietary taboos for children with diarrhea

Dietary taboo 1: Avoid eggs, chicken soup and other meat soups, meat, fish, shrimp and other high-protein foods. Because babies with diarrhea have strong intestinal putrefaction, high protein intake will aggravate diarrhea.

Dietary taboo 2: Avoid milk and yogurt. Yogurt and milk are gas-producing foods. Eating them will cause bloating in the intestines, increase intestinal motility and aggravate diarrhea, so they should not be consumed. If babies who are six months to one year old and have not been weaned want to drink milk, you can buy special diarrhea milk powder. Babies who have been weaned and are over one year old can eat some rice soup or porridge to help restore the function of the digestive system.

Dietary taboo three: Avoid bean foods and bean products. Such as green beans, broad beans, soybeans, mung beans, bean sprouts, tofu, and vermicelli. Because this type of food is rich in crude fiber and protein, it will increase the baby's intestinal motility and cause bloating, and aggravate diarrhea.

Dietary taboo four: Avoid eating fruits and vegetables containing crude fiber. Such as bananas, pineapples, watermelons, green vegetables, cabbage, bamboo shoots, peppers, leeks, sweet potatoes, etc. Because cellulose can promote intestinal peristalsis, thus aggravating baby's diarrhea.

Dietary taboo five: avoid sugar. Sugar entering the intestines often causes fermentation and aggravates flatulence, so babies should not eat sugar or eat less sugar during diarrhea.

1. For infants, if the child has an appetite, he should continue to be fed. Breastfed children should still be breastfed; bottle-fed children should be fed sugar-free milk powder, or 1/2 diluted milk.

2. Children who have started to eat complementary foods can eat porridge or noodles. It is okay if the amount of stool increases after eating, because children with diarrhea can still absorb 80% of the sugar intake and 60% of the protein and fat, so continuing to feed them is beneficial to children with diarrhea.

3. If the condition is not serious and the child has not been hospitalized for injections, parents can feed their children oral rehydration saline by themselves, in small amounts and multiple times, once every 2 to 3 minutes, 10 to 20 ml each time with a spoon; this way, small amounts add up to large amounts, and dehydration can be corrected in about 4 to 6 hours. However, if the child is intolerant to oral rehydration or the diarrhea worsens, the child should be taken to the hospital to see a pediatrician and receive intravenous rehydration to avoid serious complications.

The above paragraphs have explained clearly some dietary taboos when children have diarrhea. I hope that after reading this, parents can make reasonable dietary arrangements according to their children’s condition. Of course, I would also like to emphasize that if our children still have diarrhea after a period of dietary adjustment, they must go to a professional specialist hospital to receive a doctor’s diagnosis and treatment, so as not to delay the disease.
