How can mothers with blood type O prevent neonatal jaundice?

O type blood is a very common blood type, known as "universal blood" among the people. This blood type is widely liked by everyone, but children of O type blood mothers are prone to jaundice. How can O type blood mothers prevent neonatal jaundice? During pregnancy, pregnant women should go to the hospital for a hemolysis test to see if the baby has hemolysis. If the baby is born with jaundice, the jaundice can be removed by exposing the baby to the sun's ultraviolet rays.

1. Methods to prevent jaundice

Pregnant women should pay attention to the following two points in the prevention and care of pathological neonatal jaundice.

① Fetal jaundice (pathological neonatal jaundice) is often caused by the pregnant mother being invaded by damp heat, which affects the fetus and causes fetal jaundice after the fetus is born. Therefore, during pregnancy, the pregnant mother should pay attention to eating in moderation, not eating raw or cold food, not being too hungry or too full, and avoid drinking alcohol and spicy and hot foods to prevent damage to the spleen and stomach.

② If a woman has given birth to a baby with fetal jaundice, she should take preventive measures during her next pregnancy and take Chinese medicine on time.

③ Jaundice is divided into physiological jaundice, which appears 2 to 3 days after birth, reaches a peak at 4 to 6 days, and disappears at 7 to 10 days. It lasts longer in premature infants and has no other clinical symptoms except mild loss of appetite. If jaundice appears within 24 hours after birth, does not subside within 2 to 3 weeks, or even continues to deepen and worsen, or reappears after subsiding, or jaundice begins to appear within one to several weeks after birth, it is pathological jaundice. For physiological jaundice, it is recommended to start breastfeeding early, and for pathological jaundice, go to the hospital for light therapy or traditional Chinese medicine treatment.

2. Solutions for jaundice

① Pay close attention to the baby's mental state, diet and stool color. At the same time, you can use blue light irradiation or oral Yinzhihuang oral liquid for comprehensive treatment.

② It is recommended to take the child to the neonatal department immediately for a hemolysis test and give blue light irradiation to reduce jaundice. If hemolysis occurs, give it as soon as possible to prevent further development of hemolysis. It is advisable to eat high-sugar and low-fat foods, and eat more light vegetables, soy milk, eggs, rice noodles, white sugar, etc. Avoid animal oil, fatty meat, spicy foods such as chili peppers, mustard tubers, garlic, cinnamon, cloves, fennel, onions, leeks, ginger, etc.
