Baby crying during teething

Baby crying during teething

When a baby cries during teething, parents are really at a loss as to what to do. Of course, there is a reason why babies cry during teething. Babies are not used to the newly grown teeth. Sometimes they feel pain and itching. Sometimes they also have systemic symptoms such as fever. After a period of time, the baby will adapt. Let’s take a closer look at the circumstances surrounding babies’ crying during teething.

How many days does the baby cry during teething?

Every baby has a different physique, so the duration of crying is also different. Many babies will have a fever when they are teething. Generally, the earlier the baby grows teeth, the greater the chance of having a fever. Older babies around nine months old are not prone to becoming crazy when teething. Pay attention to whether the baby has a fever. If not, it may be that the teeth are itchy and uncomfortable. You can give the baby some teether or teething sticks to chew.

What discomforts will your baby experience during teething?

1. Fever

As parents, you must be very touched when your baby is teething. However, some babies will have a low fever when teething, and the body temperature is mostly below 38.0 (rectal temperature). Parents should pay special attention.

2. Increased saliva secretion

When the teeth first erupt, they stimulate the nerve endings on the gums, increasing saliva secretion, but the baby will not swallow too much saliva at once, causing involuntary drooling.

3. Itchy teeth

Because the germ pushes upward when it erupts, the baby often feels itchy and uncomfortable, so he likes to bite the nipple, people, or hard objects to eliminate the discomfort.

4. The baby keeps crying

When babies cry, become irritable, or become restless before their teeth erupt, they will usually calm down if you let them bite a teething stick to divert their attention.

In short, when the baby feels uncomfortable due to teething and likes to chew things, the mother can prepare some teething biscuits designed specifically for teething babies. She can also make some carrot or celery sticks as thick as fingers for the baby to chew to relieve the discomfort.
