How to treat paronychia in children

Many children will cry non-stop because of illness. Adults will feel particularly heartbroken and wish they could get sick instead of their children. However, thoughts are just thoughts and cannot be realized. Therefore, the most fundamental way is to cure the child’s disease. Paronychia in children is a very worrying disease because in severe cases it will make children feel pain when walking. So how should paronychia in children be treated?

The general consideration is that the symptoms of paronychia are caused by incorrect toenail trimming methods. Timely self-conditioning can improve the symptoms. First of all, you need to pay attention to personal hygiene habits. You can use hydrogen peroxide or iodine to disinfect. Local treatment can be with ichthyol ointment or lincomycin lidocaine gel. Severe cases require nail removal treatment.

In fact, paronychia can be cured through pedicure. After the toenails have been softened, the pedicure masters will use their tools to trim the part of the nail that is embedded in the skin so that the toenails no longer grow into the skin. After several manicures, the symptoms of paronychia are almost eliminated, and the granulation tissue will slowly turn into dead skin over time and fall off naturally.

Paronychia, also known as nail carbuncle, is a suppurative infection of the tissue around the nail caused by a minor local injury. At first, one side of the nail or the root of the nail becomes red and swollen, with severe pain. Then, pus gradually forms and accumulates under the nail to form a subungual abscess. After rupture, it often becomes a chronic inflammation due to poor pus drainage. Here are some proven prescriptions for external treatment with Chinese medicine.

Apply iodine and soak the affected toe. If there is a little trauma or damage to the toe, apply or soak the affected toe with iodine 4 to 6 times a day for 15 to 20 minutes each time until the skin turns white. The disinfection effect of iodine will corrode the diseased skin tissue and let it grow again to prevent paronychia.

Chinese medicine plaster is a kind of conservative treatment method. Its function is to reduce swelling, relieve pain and detoxify. It is suitable for patients with early paronychia. Generally, hospitals apply ichthyol ointment or Sanhuang powder on the affected area.
