Everyone should be familiar with snoring when sleeping. Although snoring when sleeping can cause a lot of noise, many parents do not take it seriously, especially when children snore when sleeping, thinking that this is a relatively normal phenomenon. In fact, it is not. Snoring is also very dangerous, especially for some children with obesity problems, snoring will be more common. So what is going on? During infancy, the baby's pharynx is rich in lymphoid tissue, also known as proliferative bodies. If the proliferation is too large, it is called proliferative body hypertrophy. Enlarged tonsils or adenoids can cause narrowing of the throat, leading to snoring during sleep, snoring, mouth breathing, and even respiratory arrest. The baby's pharynx is short and the nasal passages are narrow, so they are easily blocked by the slightest secretion or swelling of the mucosa. Babies under six months old often have nasal sounds, nasal congestion or phlegm in the throat, which is caused by this reason. Inflammation of the upper respiratory tract and chronic sinusitis can cause congestion and edema of the nasal mucosa, abnormal hypertrophy of the tonsils, obstruction of nasopharyngeal ventilation, inability to breathe through the nose during sleep, and snoring with breathing. The soft flesh structure of the throat of obese babies is thicker, and the oropharyngeal airway is easily blocked during sleep, causing snoring, and even sleep apnea in severe cases. For example, when a baby sleeps on his back, the root of the tongue falls back due to gravity, and the respiratory tract is partially blocked. When air flows in and out of the nasal cavity, oropharynx and throat, the nearby mucous membranes or muscles vibrate and produce snoring sounds. The breathing difficulties caused by colds are caused not only by various reasons in the respiratory tract and nasal cavity, but also by attention to the child's sleeping environment. Sleeping posture is important, and attention should be paid to whether the arms are pressing on the body when sleeping, etc. If it is determined that a child's snoring is caused by obesity, you must pay attention to weight loss. Pay attention to the child's sleeping environment, don't let him wear too many clothes, and don't let him put heavy objects on his body. If it is caused by a cold, a blocked nose, or rhinitis, the snoring will disappear if it is cured in time. |
