Baby's neck has red spots

As children grow up, they are prone to various physical problems. Red spots on the back of the baby's neck are a typical one. There are many reasons for this phenomenon. What parents are most concerned about is the properties of the red spots and whether they will affect the child's health. There are two most common reasons. Parents can have a comprehensive understanding and make judgments by comparing their children's conditions. Let’s take a look at the reasons why there are red spots on the back of the baby’s neck.

This red mark is a type of birthmark and is usually distributed near the midline of the child's body, such as on the skin of the eyelids, neck, back, etc. In fact, it is caused by the accumulation of too many capillaries in the epidermis of the skin. The blood vessel filling becomes more obvious when the child is crying, having a fever, or taking a bath.

Treatment: This birthmark will not affect the child. Most of them will gradually disappear with the age increase. Generally, no special treatment is required, and parents do not need to worry too much.

Skin scab

Some children will have some crusts on their scalp after birth, which are similar to scaly, yellowish oily patches. Some parents worry whether they have skin diseases. In fact, this is medically called seborrheic dermatitis, which is often called cradle cap by the elderly. Cradle cap usually occurs within a few months after the baby is born, and its main manifestation is the appearance of yellowish oily patches on the scalp. Because the baby's scalp pores are blocked, sweat cannot flow out, which will irritate the scalp pores and cause itching, and even cause scalp eczema.

The cause of cradle cap is not very clear at present. It is currently believed that it is caused by the influence of maternal hormones, which causes excessive secretion of sebaceous glands and produces excessive sebaceous gland oily substances. It usually improves on its own and generally lasts for several months.

Treatment: If there are not many plaques and the child does not itch, no treatment is required. If there is too much cradle cap, you can try to soften it by soaking it in vegetable oil, and then use a toothbrush or comb to gently brush or comb off the cradle cap. But remember that forcible removal may cause local bleeding and infection.

When children have these two phenomena, don't be anxious. After confirming the real reason is the above two, treat the child. If it is other reasons, it is better to treat it early!
