What is the cause of the lump on the child's gums?

As children grow, their bodies gradually change. Of course, some small accidents may occur. For example, when children are teething, you will find that the teeth do not grow out normally, but a lump appears on the gums. Especially when children are still in the stage of deciduous teeth, parents will not notice if there is no obvious pain. However, when parents find a lump on their child's gums, they don't know what is going on.

Apical periodontitis

The occurrence of chronic apical periodontitis is generally accompanied by tooth decay, defects, cracks and other lesions or a history of treatment. Dental radiographs can often show images of apical bone destruction.

Caries of deciduous teeth during childhood is a very common phenomenon among many children. If the treatment of caries is not taken seriously, it will soon develop into pulpitis.

Apical periodontitis mostly develops from pulpitis. When pulpitis is not treated in time, the pulp becomes infected and necrotic, and develops to the root of the tooth, causing inflammation of the tissues around the root. This is apical periodontitis.

If you suffer from apical periodontitis, your teeth will hurt when you bite them, sometimes it will be severe and sometimes it will be relatively mild. Some patients with apical periodontitis do not even feel much discomfort because their inflammation is still in a chronic process.

Timely medical treatment is important

However, parents should know that healthy deciduous teeth help digestion and are beneficial to children's growth and development. If not treated in time, the apical disease of the deciduous teeth will destroy the periapical tissue, leading to the destruction and absorption of the deciduous teeth roots and premature loss of deciduous teeth, which will affect the child's chewing function, and then affect the child's digestive function and growth and development.

At the same time, the premature loss of deciduous teeth is not conducive to the eruption of permanent teeth and the formation of permanent dentition; on the other hand, once the periapical disease of deciduous teeth destroys the periapical tissue, it can further affect the development of the permanent tooth germs inherited below, causing their enamel to be underdeveloped. Some untreated apical periodontitis of deciduous teeth often becomes the infection foci that cause systemic diseases.
