One-month-old baby's arm suppuration after vaccination

One-month-old baby's arm suppuration after vaccination

Generally, babies are given BCG vaccination when they are born, which is also called flower planting. At first there will be redness and swelling, which will gradually rot, and then signs of red bumps will appear, and this will repeat several times. There is no need to worry too much. Don't touch it when taking a bath, and don't touch it at other times to prevent infection. Babies need to get many vaccinations from birth to three years old. After vaccination, be careful not to let the needle hole come into contact with water.

Care:

1. When BCG starts to become red and swollen, no treatment is required.

2. When pustules start to appear but have not broken, there is no need to treat them. Just be careful not to get them there when bathing or getting dressed.

3. When the abscess bursts, it is also a normal reaction process. There is no need to be nervous. You can use a sterile cotton ball to dry the area, keep the area breathable, and wait for the scab to form.

4. You can also apply some alcohol for disinfection. Just use the low-concentration alcohol you use to apply on belly buttons. But some doctors say that there is no need to use iodine or alcohol for disinfection.

5. No need to cover it with Band-Aid or something like that.

6. You can take a bath and breastfeed normally. During the period of suppuration and ulceration, be sure to dry the suppurated area after taking a bath.

7. Some children do not have obvious suppuration at the injection site, which does not mean that the vaccination has failed. The tuberculin skin test can tell whether the vaccination is successful.

When the baby was born, he should have been given a BCG vaccine in the left upper arm and a hepatitis B vaccine in the right upper arm. This is how suppuration occurs after the BCG vaccine. Don't touch it. Don't rub the baby's stye when bathing or putting on clothes. Sometimes pus will fall out. Don't disinfect or squeeze it, or it will fester again. Wait until it dries up and forms a scab.

Hemangioma refers to a benign tumor that occurs in vascular tissue. It is formed due to the misconfiguration and tumor-like proliferation of vascular tissue. It is divided into primary and secondary types, of which primary accounts for 75% and secondary accounts for about 25%.

Most secondary cases occur in infancy, and a few are discovered in adulthood. The cause is still unclear. Primary or congenital hemangiomas are formed by the proliferation of the vascular network during the human embryonic period. They are present at birth and may be asymptomatic when the hemangioma is small. Hemangiomas can occur in various parts of the body and grow on exposed parts of the face and limbs, affecting appearance. It compresses and destroys the functions and morphology of surrounding tissues and organs to varying degrees, affecting the growth and development of the human body. Some may experience repeated bleeding and infection, and a very small number of people may develop malignant changes or even be life-threatening.

The treatment of blood vessels or vascular malformations should be determined based on factors such as the type and location of the lesion and the age of the patient. Current treatments include shell resection, radiotherapy, hormone therapy, cryotherapy, laser therapy, sclerotherapy, and sclerotherapy injection. Generally, a combination of treatments is used. Hemangiomas in infants and young children should be observed, and if they develop rapidly, timely intervention and treatment should be given.
