What does diaper allergy look like?

When babies are young, they will wet the bed due to their incomplete development. In order to let their children and themselves sleep well, many young parents will use diapers for their babies at night to solve the problem of bedwetting. Some physical conditions of babies are discovered slowly during their growth. Many parents find that their babies have some red bumps on their buttocks after using diapers, and they think it is irritated by urine. In fact, this may be that the baby is allergic to diapers. Let’s understand what diaper allergy looks like.

1. What are the symptoms of diaper allergy?

When babies are allergic to diapers, they usually develop small red bumps and red spots. It is recommended to do some cleaning for the baby before putting on diapers every day, and then cover the baby's buttocks and inner thighs with talcum powder to keep the baby's skin dry and refreshed, so as to avoid such things from happening. You can also apply some Lefu liquid to the affected area where the baby is allergic, which can also effectively avoid some allergic phenomena. Keeping the baby's buttocks dry and comfortable is very important for the baby's health.

Bacteria on the surface of children's skin and in their feces decompose the urea in urine and feces to produce ammonia. The skin is irritated by the ammonia and dermatitis occurs, which is often related to improper care. It is recommended to keep the buttocks clean and dry and change diapers frequently. Wash your child's buttocks after a bowel movement with warm water, without soap. Rinse the diapers clean and dry them in the sun. Use disposable diapers properly. And apply tannic acid ointment on the buttocks.

As for the part of the skin that uses diapers, healthy skin should be dry. Wet skin quickly becomes fragile and prone to diaper rash. To minimize the wetness caused by diapers, diapers should be changed frequently and diapers with extra absorbency should be used. If you use traditional diapers, you should check and change them more often.

2. How often should you change diapers?

Babies continue to grow from birth, and the frequency of diaper changes should gradually decrease. Because newborns have incompletely developed organs, they need to change diapers frequently. Generally speaking, they should be changed every two hours during the day and about every four hours at night. This time can be coordinated with the mothers' feeding schedule. The baby will urinate 15 to 30 minutes after feeding, and this is the most appropriate time to change diapers. The diaper changing schedule can be arranged in this way until the baby is six months old.

Even if the child does not soil the diaper, it is recommended to change it every two hours or so, especially in summer when babies sweat more.

In addition to checking whether the baby's diaper is dry before going to bed and changing the diaper after waking up, don't forget to change the baby's diaper to a clean one before taking the baby out.

After the baby is six months old, mothers have basically mastered the baby's urination time. In this case, they don't need to use diapers all day long. They can wait until the baby is likely to urinate before using them. This way, the baby's little butt can "breathe" more fresh air. Diapers can be used at night to ensure the baby's quality sleep and allow mothers to get enough rest. This is both economical and environmentally friendly. Don't ever think that your baby can completely abandon diapers and pee on his own at this time. Babies under 2 years old only have instinctive conditioned reflex and cannot control urination.
