Babies who are just one month old often have nasal mucus in their nostrils, but the mother dare not deal with the baby easily, for fear that improper force will hurt the baby's nostrils. 1 First observe whether there is any booger in the baby's nostrils. Babies will secrete a lot of nasal mucus. If it is not cleaned regularly, it will affect their breathing and sleep quality. 2 There are two types of boogers. One is wet and sticky, and sticks to the lining of the nostrils. One type is dry and black and blocks the nostrils. There are two different methods for cleaning nasal mucus. When cleaning wet and sticky nasal mucus, let the baby lie flat, put pillows on both sides of the head to prevent the head from shaking, gently press the forehead, and use a cotton swab specially for babies to gently pick the mucus in the nostrils. 4 When you find hardened boogers in your nostrils, soften them with clean water before cleaning them out.
