How to treat children's sore throat and recurrent fever?

Due to seasonal changes or excessive heat in the body, many people, including some children, will experience symptoms of sore throat. Clinically, there are many methods that can be used to treat sore throat, not just drug therapy, but also some dietary therapy. For some children, throat inflammation always occurs repeatedly, and fever also occurs repeatedly. What should they do at this time?

What to do if your child has a sore throat and repeated fever

A child's sore throat is an upper respiratory tract infection. Generally, if a child has a fever and is in good spirits, it is mostly a viral infection. If a child has a fever and is in a very bad spirit, it is mostly a bacterial infection. Whether it is a virus or bacteria, it has a period and the general symptoms disappear on their own in about 7 days. During this period, the temperature fluctuates around 38 degrees, which is normal. There is no need to worry. Just do some physical cooling. If the body temperature exceeds 38.5 and the spirit is poor, take some antipyretics and do physical cooling. If the body temperature is 38.5 and the spirit is very good, you don't need to take antipyretics, just continue physical cooling and drink more boiled water. If all these have been done, the body temperature has not dropped and there are signs of continued rise or the condition is getting worse, you should see a doctor immediately to avoid long-term high fever causing other diseases.

Children who suffer from repeated colds, fevers, coughs, phlegm and sore throats are common in people who like to eat snacks, sweets, fried foods, beverages, cold drinks and dairy products. This is because these snacks are good at attaching to the throat and are a good culture medium for various microorganisms. Usually, the oral mucosa is home to a large number of normal bacteria. If we often eat the above foods, the microorganisms that like to eat these foods will multiply in large numbers. When these microorganisms break their balance, the dominant microorganisms will cause trouble and cause our body to become sick or have a sore throat. In mild cases, it will only cause coughing first, and then sore throat or other diseases such as colds. If we ignore it, it will get worse.

Causes of repeated fever in children's throat

Tonsils are active immune organs that contain lymphocytes and immune cells at various stages of development. They can inhibit and eliminate pathogenic bacteria and viruses that enter through the mouth and nose. If the baby has a poor physique, it is easy to cause tonsillitis. Supplementing with probiotics to enhance the baby's body resistance will prevent the baby from suffering from tonsillitis all the time. A more conservative treatment approach is to use effective antibiotics, such as penicillin and cephalosporins, for bacterial infections.

Most tonsillitis caused by viral infections are self-limiting, which means that a baby with normal immune function only needs to pay attention to proper water intake, observe changes in appetite and activity, and try to encourage warm and cool foods (such as pudding, tofu pudding, etc.) within the tolerable range of throat pain, and maintain a normal diet and regular schedule. Generally, no special treatment is required and the baby can recover in three to five days.

Some tonsillitis is caused by stronger pathogens or weaker resistance of the child. When the doctor suspects a bacterial infection (especially streptococcal infection), he may recommend oral antibiotics for treatment. However, please note that the course of treatment usually takes about ten days. Do not stop the medication too early, which may cause chronic recurrent inflammation or other serious complications (such as heart and kidney damage and pneumonia). At the same time, you must follow the doctor's instructions to return for follow-up.
