What to do if your child has a flat nose

Children with flat noses do not need special treatment. You can observe the external factors of their parents. If both parents have high noses, the external appearance of the child's nose will change as the child grows up. If both parents have flat noses, then they need to undergo rhinoplasty surgery after adulthood.

A child's flat nose is usually related to genetic factors, but when the child is young, his or her bones are not fully developed. With the arrival of the growth cycle, the appearance of the facial features will change. If both parents have high noses, even if the child has a flat nose when he or she is born, with the arrival of puberty, the facial features will change, causing the nose to become straight.

If a child has a flat nose, it is best not to use external force to change it when writing, to avoid pinching the nose hard which may cause damage to the nasal mucosa, and may even easily cause diseases such as otitis media and rhinitis, which may affect the respiratory function and even cause damage to the shape of the nose.

If a child has a flat nose and there is no improvement after adulthood, he or she needs to go to the hospital for facial observation. If necessary, the child's own ear cartilage and intercostal cartilage can be selected as filling materials for the nose bridge. After the operation, the rejection reaction can be reduced and the shape of the nose can be made more upright.
