Nowadays, parents have a higher level of health awareness, and their requirements for their children have become particularly strict. Take brushing teeth as an example. Not only do they choose special children's toothpaste for their children, but they also urge their children to brush their teeth in the morning and evening and take good care of their teeth. However, the oral cavity of some children is still easily invaded by diseases. For example, a child may have something like a meat bag growing on his gums. What is going on? It is not uncommon to find pustules or granulations on the gums around teeth in daily life, especially in children during the period of primary teeth. Since there is no obvious pain, it is difficult for parents to detect it. Even if parents find a lump on their child’s gums, they don’t know what’s going on, and some even worry that the child may have a tumor. In fact, most of these are caused by chronic inflammation of the roots of adjacent teeth, also known as chronic apical periodontitis. What is apical periodontitis? The occurrence of chronic apical periodontitis is generally accompanied by tooth decay, defects, cracks and other lesions or a history of treatment. Dental radiographs can often show images of apical bone destruction. Caries of deciduous teeth during childhood is a very common phenomenon among many children. If the treatment of caries is not taken seriously, it will soon develop into pulpitis. Apical periodontitis mostly develops from pulpitis. When pulpitis is not treated in time, the pulp becomes infected and necrotic, and develops to the root of the tooth, causing inflammation of the tissues around the root. This is apical periodontitis. If you suffer from apical periodontitis, your teeth will hurt when you bite them, sometimes it will be severe and sometimes it will be relatively mild. Some patients with apical periodontitis do not even feel much discomfort because their inflammation is still in a chronic process. When a person is sick or tired, his resistance is reduced and inflammation will occur acutely. During the attack, there will be symptoms such as swollen gums or pus discharge, severe pain, etc. |
