What to do if an 8-year-old child has spots on his face

Spots mostly occur in adults and the elderly. There are many reasons for the formation of spots, and there are also many types of spots. For example, sun spots caused by sun exposure, freckles caused by genetics, chloasma in pregnant women, and age spots in the elderly. Once spots are formed, they are difficult to treat, so we take care of our skin in our daily lives to minimize the formation of spots. Plaques are rarely seen in children. So what should we do if an 8-year-old child has spots on his face?

Freckles are a common dominant genetic disease. Currently, it is difficult to completely cure. Aesthetics does affect life. When you are young, it is very important to avoid all uncertain factors. Improper handling affects the appearance. Refers to dark brown spots scattered on the face and other places. See Volume 4 of "The Authentic Surgery". Commonly known as freckle spots. Skin lesions usually appear around 3 to 5 years old, and are more common in females. Their number gradually increases with age. It is common on the face, especially the nose and cheeks, and can affect exposed parts such as the neck, shoulders, and back of the hands. There is no rash on non-exposed parts. The lesions are light brown or dark brown pinhead-sized to mung bean-sized macules that are round, oval or irregular. Distributed in scattered or clustered forms, isolated and unintegrated. No subjective symptoms. The rash becomes darker and more numerous after sun exposure in the summer, while it becomes lighter or disappears in the winter. There is often a family history. Pathological and clinical studies have shown that autosomal dominant inheritance, genetic inheritance, exogenous wind evil, ultraviolet radiation, and genetic tendency are the main causes of this disease.

Causes:

The blockage of meridians leads to blood stasis and obstruction, which prevents blood from reaching the skin and face to nourish the skin. The metabolic waste, harmful substances and melanin in the skin cannot be excreted through the normal metabolism of the human body, and gradually accumulate to form freckles. This is what Chinese medicine calls spots on the face and blood stasis in the body. Where there are spots, there must be blood stasis, and removing spots must remove blood stasis. The reason why pigmentation is difficult to cure is that ordinary medicines cannot directly penetrate the lesions, and it is difficult to completely remove the pus that adheres to the meridians like tofu dregs. Most patients with pigmentation have symptoms of qi and blood deficiency to a certain extent.

Causes of freckles: Freckles are mostly caused by wind-heat in the lung meridian and genetics. Increase the activity of tyrosinase in skin melanocytes, and under the irradiation of ultraviolet rays, a large amount of melanin is produced, thus forming freckles

treat:

1. Depigmentation treatment

3% to 5% hydroquinone cream, 0.1% retinoic acid ointment, 3% to 5% arbutin cream, 20% azelaic acid cream, 1% kojic acid cream, etc., can have certain effects if used externally for several months.

2. Corrosion and destructive treatment

In the past, treatments such as liquid nitrogen freezing, trichloroacetic acid or phenol application, mechanical grinding, high-frequency electricity, and ordinary CO2 laser have been used to remove freckles. However, the above treatments are not selective for skin lesions and often cause some sequelae. They need to be performed with caution. Too deep treatment can easily cause depressed scars or hypertrophic scars and may lead to pigmentation or hypopigmentation. At the same time, the treatment process is painful and difficult for patients to accept.

3. Selective laser treatment

Modern Q-switched laser is highly selective in treating freckles and is currently the best method for treating freckles.

Prognosis

You should try to avoid or reduce exposure to the sun, or apply sunscreen or other sun-shielding agents to reduce the occurrence of freckles or reduce the deepening of their color.
