What to do if your newborn has milk rash

What to do if your newborn has milk rash

Neonatal milk rash is a common disease in infants. Sometimes babies will have milk rash on their faces, necks, and bodies. Once they sweat, the child's body will be very itchy. At this time, the baby will cry non-stop and start scratching. At this time, parents will be helpless and very anxious. For this phenomenon, we give guidance to young parents. What should you do if you encounter a newborn baby milk rash? Let’s see what to do next?

First, don't scratch randomly to avoid breaking the skin and causing infection.

Second, for treatment, you can use 2%~3% boric acid, rinse with boiling water, dip a little with a relatively clean gauze or sterilized cotton swab, and apply it to the affected area. For Chinese medicine, you can use 20 grams of honeysuckle and 20 grams of dandelion, boil them into water, filter them after cooling, dip a little with a cool wet towel, and slowly apply them to the affected area. Usually, you can supplement more vitamins C, B1, and B6, and you can let your baby drink some orange juice appropriately. Try not to use hot water or boiling water to wash the affected area.

In addition, you can also buy some black bean distillate ointment in the pharmacy, dip a little with a cotton swab and apply it to the affected area once a day. After the boric acid or Chinese medicine cold compress, you can then apply the ointment, the effect will be better. If the eczema area is large, the affected skin is red and purulent, you should go to the hospital for treatment.

3. Again, life care:

The following care methods are generally used for babies with eczema:

1. Do not use soap to irritate your child when washing his face or bathing him. If the eczema on the body or limbs is severe, do not take a bath for the time being, and apply medicine immediately after washing;

2. Put clean, soft and comfortable clothes on your child, change and wash pillows frequently, and use light-colored pure cotton cloth instead of chemical fiber products;

3. Do not expose your child to cold or heat, avoid cold wind, and avoid exposure to the sun in summer;

4. Nursing mothers should avoid spicy foods, such as peppers, onions, garlic, wine, etc.

5. The milk you feed your child should be boiled for a longer time to destroy the allergenic substances in the milk. If your child has severe eczema, you should consult a dermatologist in time. Parents should not apply medicine to your child casually to avoid aggravating the allergy. Generally, eczema is easy to improve after treatment, but it is also easy to relapse. However, don't worry, it will gradually heal after stopping milk (about 6 months).

If newborn milk rash occurs in your child, young parents should not be anxious or afraid. This disease is common, so it is easy to treat. We remind you again: if treatment is to be carried out according to the doctor's instructions, or medication is used, never apply medication to your child casually.
