Nowadays, more and more children may suffer from pediatric hernia, but no one really understands the causes of pediatric hernia. Most people may only worry about what to do when encountering pediatric hernia, but if you know why pediatric hernia occurs, you may be able to avoid some things, and it is also very good for your child. You can also avoid these diseases when taking care of your children in the future. Hernia, also known as intestinal hernia, is a mass formed when abdominal organs protrude from their normal position through holes or weak points in the abdominal wall. It is usually caused by factors such as coughing, constipation, anger, heavy physical labor, and difficulty urinating, which cause a sudden increase in abdominal pressure and break through the hernia peritoneum. Children often suffer from crying. The general incidence of hernia is 1-4%, which is 10 times that of girls in boys and even higher in premature babies, and may occur on both sides. Hernias in children may occur days, months, or years after birth. Usually when a child is crying, exercising vigorously, or has dry stools, there will be a protruding lump in the groin, which sometimes extends to the scrotum or labia area; it will disappear on its own when the child lies flat or is pressed with the hands. Once the hernia becomes incarcerated (the hernia mass cannot be reduced), abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, fever, anorexia, or crying and irritability will occur. Because boys' testicles descend to the scrotum through the inguinal canal before birth, the peritoneum moves downward to form the processus vaginalis. If the processus vaginalis has not closed after the baby is born, or has closed incompletely, it will become a larger cavity, and the contents of the abdominal cavity will protrude to the body surface, forming a hernia. Because the right testicle descends slightly later than the left and the processus vaginalis is closed later, there are more cases of right inguinal hernias. Of course, girls may also develop hernias due to weak abdominal walls, but the incidence rate is relatively low. So no matter what disease your child has, you must first understand why these diseases are caused. This will allow you to effectively avoid them in the future when raising your child. It will also be very beneficial for your child. After all, only when your child is not in pain can you be happier and give you better experience in the process of parenting. |
