Is bedwetting a disease in a nine-year-old child?

It is normal for infants and young children to wet the bed because they cannot control their nervous consciousness and physiological reactions. However, for a 9-year-old child who is gradually growing up, it is okay to wet the bed occasionally. If the bedwets frequently, it means that the child has a urinary tract disease. For 9-year-old children who frequently wet the bed, parents should pay attention to the disease, protect their children's self-esteem, and actively cooperate with treatment.

1. Pathological factors. For the 9 pairs of children who wet the bed, a big reason is pathological factors. There are many systems related to enuresis, including nervous system diseases such as epilepsy, encephalopathy, inflammation and tumors of the spinal cord, etc.; urinary system diseases include urethral stenosis, hypospadias, nephritis, cystitis, urethritis, renal damage, etc.; there are also other diseases, such as chronic diarrhea, abdominal pain, lung disease, diabetes, hypercalcemia, hypokalemia, etc. Masturbation and laziness are related to bad habits; others include sleep apnea, allergies, etc.

2. Mental factors. If a child is affected by some mental factors, his spirit will become extremely nervous, and he will often feel anxious and uneasy. His psychological and behavioral abnormalities, such as fear, fright, sadness, strong psychological depression, confusion, etc., will cause the child to wet the bed. If the psychological problem is not solved one day, the bedwetting phenomenon will still exist even after the child becomes an adult.

3. Physiological factors: If a child's bladder function is delayed in development and he cannot control urination autonomously, uninhibited contractions will occur during the storage period, resulting in a small bladder capacity, high sensitivity and poor compliance; low perception during bladder filling and contraction or abnormal function of bladder pressure receptors can cause bedwetting in children. In addition, incomplete urethral closure function or a family history of enuresis, that is, genetic factors, can all cause children to wet the bed.

Parents should pay attention to the various causes mentioned above, actively find the causes of their children's bedwetting, and then carry out corresponding treatment. Children's bedwetting also has regularities. As long as the regularity of their bedwetting is understood and they are trained to urinate, the children will develop a reflex to urination over time, and will automatically urinate when the time comes. Parents should be careful not to beat or punish their children in a humiliating manner, so as not to increase the mental burden of their children and let them build up confidence. Once the child stops wetting the bed, they should be praised and encouraged, and the child's bedwetting phenomenon will be reduced. Parents should carefully observe what factors are related to their children's bedwetting and focus on solving them.
