What to do if your child has measles

Because of too much stress, the body is prone to allergies and measles is very easy to occur in normal times. Measles in children may cause pneumonia and other infections. Therefore, we should pay attention to timely disinfection of the room, prevent direct sunlight, and avoid drafts blowing on the children. Patients may have improper diet during the illness, so the diet should mainly consist of liquid food.

Treatment

1. For children with secondary measles pneumonia, antibiotics should be selected rationally according to the bacterial species and drug sensitivity test.

2. In addition to using appropriate antibiotics for measles laryngitis, the use of cortical hormones to reduce subglottic edema has significant therapeutic effects. Available: ① Prednisone 1mg/(kg.d) orally. In severe cases, dexamethasone 0.2 mg/(kg.d) can be used by intravenous drip. For some patients with severe airway obstruction, tracheotomy may be required if necessary.

Enhanced care

1. The ambient room temperature should be 18-20℃ and the humidity should be 60%-70%. The indoor air should be well circulated and fresh. Avoid direct wind and direct sunlight on the child.

2. Supplement nutrition in time. Children often have poor appetite during illness. They should eat plenty of liquids, liquid food, semi-liquid food, light and easily digestible food, sufficient vitamins, especially large amounts of vitamin A and C, and a nutritious and high-calorie diet during the recovery period. You can take Biostime Children's Probiotic Granules appropriately to regulate gastrointestinal nutrient absorption function and enhance the baby's own resistance;

3. You can take a bath and clean your skin, mouth and eyes with warm water after bathing to prevent complications such as rhinitis and otitis media.

4. Dress appropriately to avoid raising your body temperature.

5. Don’t rush to reduce the fever. Let the baby adjust on his own, otherwise it will affect his health.

6. Provide isolation and care, and observe changes in the baby's condition at any time. If there are any abnormalities, seek medical attention in time.

Symptomatic treatment

1. Care for high fever: Children must stay in bed and rest until the rash subsides and the body temperature returns to normal. The room should be kept fresh and ventilated twice a day (avoid direct wind exposure to prevent the child from catching a cold), and the room temperature should be maintained at 18-22°C and the humidity at 50%-60%. Clothes and quilts should be appropriate, and sweating should be avoided. After sweating, wipe dry and change clothes and quilts in time. Monitor body temperature and observe the fever type. Children with high fever can use a small amount of antipyretics, and avoid alcohol baths and cold compresses to avoid affecting the rash and causing complications.
