Where do children come from?

When we were very young, we always asked our parents how we came into being. Some parents say that their children were adopted or that they were born from a stone. The reason they say this is not only because they feel embarrassed, but more often it is because they don’t know how to explain it to their children. In fact, you can first understand where children come from from a professional perspective and then explain it to your children. Perhaps the effect will be better.

Two ways

1. For a normal birth, the baby goes from the mother's uterus to the vagina and then comes out. 2. For a cesarean section, the obstetrician and gynecologist performs surgery to cut open the pregnant woman's belly, then cut open the uterus, and then take the baby out.

Sign of labor 1: Regular uterine contractions

If the uterine contractions show the following symptoms, it indicates that labor is imminent: regular, and the time intervals are getting shorter and shorter. Generally, it should be 20-30 minutes at the beginning, and the uterine contractions are about 20-30 seconds. Then the intervals between uterine contractions gradually shorten to about 5-6 minutes. At this time, the expectant mother should immediately contact the expectant father and family and rush to the hospital.

The pain of uterine contractions is not abdominal pain, but is caused by uterine contraction. If the expectant mother touches her belly with her hands at this time, she can feel that her abdomen has become very hard.

Labor sign 2: Bloody sight

Generally, 24-48 hours before delivery, the cervix begins to dilate slightly, separating the fetal membranes from the uterine wall. The capillaries will rupture, and a small amount of blood will be discharged through the vagina and mixed with the mucus in the cervical canal. This bloody secretion from the vagina is what we commonly call "reddish show".

Seeing spotting is actually a reliable sign of impending secretion, but how long it takes to enter labor after seeing spotting varies from person to person. Generally, labor will begin 48 hours after seeing spotting, but the labor process for primiparas is longer, usually 11-12 hours; and a very small number of expectant mothers may even have to wait a few days to a week before entering labor.

It is not necessary to go to the hospital immediately after spotting. Expectant mothers can first observe the shape, color, and amount before deciding whether to go to the hospital immediately. If you experience fresh bleeding, the amount of bleeding exceeds that during your menstrual period, or you experience abdominal pain, you should go to the hospital immediately.

If you do not have these conditions, you do not need to rush to the hospital and can wait until regular contractions occur. As the time intervals between contractions gradually shorten, you are ready to enter labor.

Labor sign three: Water breaking

Rupture of membranes refers to the natural rupture of the amniotic membrane outside the fetus, and the amniotic fluid flows out. You will generally feel a warm current flowing out of the vagina, or a moist feeling.

After the water breaks, to prevent any situation that may affect the fetus. No matter what the occasion, you should try to lie flat to reduce the outflow of amniotic fluid. Lie down flat and call an ambulance. If it is a breech presentation or the fetal head has not entered the pelvis, you must remain flat on the way to the hospital.
