What are the dangers of precocious puberty in adolescents?

Children's precocious puberty is mainly caused by the influence of hormones in the body. Precocious puberty will accelerate a child's bone growth, causing the bones to stop developing prematurely, thus preventing the child from growing tall. In addition, precocious puberty can affect a person's lifespan. People with severe precocious puberty may only live about two-thirds of the average person's lifespan. Whether it is a boy or a girl, the most typical manifestation of precocious puberty is the early development of secondary sexual characteristics.

The children suffer from precocious puberty and premature closure of their epiphyses, which affects their height in adulthood and causes them to be short in adulthood. Psychological problems: Due to the early onset of menstruation, the psychological pressure of children increases. Studies have shown that the incidence of depression in children with precocious puberty is higher. The incidence of certain diseases increases in adulthood: precocious girls experience changes in body composition during puberty and in the long term, such as increased body mass index, increased incidence of insulin resistance and metabolic syndrome; the incidence of tumors in sex hormone-related organs increases in adulthood, such as tumors of the breast, uterus, and ovary.

Children with this disease experience early sexual maturity and may have problems in making friends with the opposite sex and the same sex, such as early sexual activity. Observations have shown that by the age of 18, girls with early menarche are twice as likely to give birth or terminate their pregnancy as girls of the same age. Juvenile delinquency: Precocious puberty is more likely to be absent from classes and play truant, and precocious girls have worse academic performance in middle school than their normal or late-maturing peers. Precocious puberty is associated with some illegal acts such as theft, vandalism, fighting and drug abuse. Researchers found that females aged 18-33 with criminal records are more likely to have their first menstruation before the age of 12, and repeat offenders are also more likely to have their first menstruation before the age of 11.

With the onset of precocious puberty, the child's secondary sexual characteristics develop earlier, but the child's mental and psychological development does not advance. This leads to a phenomenon that the child's physical and mental are not in harmony with each other, causing a series of psychological problems and even leading the child to the path of crime. Therefore, precocious puberty is definitely not a small problem and medical intervention should be actively carried out.
