The course of chickenpox

The course of chickenpox

Chickenpox is a children's disease, mainly caused by infection with the varicella virus, which causes acne and suppuration on the skin. First, small red spots will appear on the skin, and then spread throughout the body to form blisters with fluid. If not treated in time, it will continue to occur in the same position of the skin, repeatedly, seriously affecting the health of the skin and the life safety of the patient, so it needs to be controlled in time.

Chickenpox in children

Small red spots appear on the child's body, starting from the chest and abdomen and then spreading to the entire body. The small red spots grow larger and become blisters filled with fluid.

After a day or two, the blisters burst and form crusts or bumps.

A new red dot appears again at the same position, and the same process repeats.

New red spots appear two to four times during two to six days.

After ten to fourteen days, the red spots will fall off and the condition will be completely healed without leaving any scars.

How to care for children with chickenpox

1. First of all, prevention should be the priority. Get vaccinated against chickenpox. Generally speaking, children around one and a half years old are most suitable for getting vaccinated against chickenpox.

2. Children are ignorant and like to scratch themselves when they feel itchy due to chickenpox. Although this can temporarily relieve the itching, scratching the chickenpox will also leave unsightly scars. Therefore, parents must keep an eye on their children and not let them scratch themselves with their hands.

3. When a child has chickenpox on his face, the skin is very delicate. Wind and sun exposure can easily cause chickenpox to break and leave scars. It is best for parents not to let their children go out. Even if they go out, they should wear hats and scarves to protect themselves from wind and sun.

4. One of the symptoms of chickenpox is a mild fever. The fever starts while the chickenpox spreads and goes away when the chickenpox disappears. Do not take aspirin to reduce a fever during your fever as this can increase the chance of complications. It can easily cause a type of encephalitis, Reye's syndrome.

5. When a child has chickenpox, he or she should be bathed in warm water (not hot water) to keep the skin clean and reduce the risk of infection. Clothes and bed sheets should be changed and washed frequently, and it is best to disinfect them with hot water. Parents should keep an eye on their children and not let them run around to prevent them from sweating too much and causing skin infections.

6. Children should eat a light diet during the period of chickenpox. You should no longer eat spicy foods such as ginger, garlic, pepper, and chili. It is best to drink more mung bean soup to clear away heat and detoxify, so that chickenpox will disappear as soon as possible.

7. Traditional Chinese medicines that can be used to treat chickenpox include: Yinqiao tablets, mint, Banlangen, Huanglian tablets, Poria cocos, etc. In addition, black beans, mung beans, and red beans can also be used to treat chickenpox.

8. In addition, chickenpox patients can also choose gentian violet, neomycin ointment, calamine lotion and other drugs for external application to relieve the patient's pain and itching, and prevent the patient from being infected with other bacteria.
