How to fill children’s cavities?

The development of children's teeth is very important because the health of their teeth is related to their dietary health. Once the teeth are severely damaged, it may cause serious damage to their diet and also pose a threat to their oral health. Especially for children who have just finished changing their teeth, tooth decay must be treated in a timely manner. Let’s take a look at how to fill children’s tooth decay. I hope parents can understand this.

1. The doctor will look at the specific condition of the teeth and the damaged area. If the damage is serious, photos will be needed. If the tooth root is already damaged, it cannot be repaired and can only be extracted. If the tooth root is not damaged, serious cases need treatment, while minor cases can be filled after cleaning.

2. The black spots on the teeth are the parts with worms. The doctor will first use a special dental drill to grind off the black parts. It’s a bit uncomfortable to do it for the first time, but it doesn’t hurt. But you will smell a necrotic smell when drilling, which is a bit disgusting.

3. After the surface layer is worn off, you can see that there is a large empty space inside the tooth, and there are a lot of powdery and granular substances inside, which are necrotic decay.

4. Then use a scraper to pull out the necrotic tissue in the tooth little by little, and rinse it out with salt water or hydrogen peroxide.

5. Use a dental drill to drill inside the tooth cavity. You may feel a little soreness and swelling at this time, because if the tooth decay is not serious, the nerves have not yet died, so you will definitely feel it.

6. After cleaning and rinsing again, you can fill the hole with material. The best material now is resin material, which has realistic color. Generally, the doctor will fill the hole layer by layer according to the size of the hole.

7. After the filling is completed, the material will be dried with equipment, and you will be asked to bite it to see if it is smooth. The whole process only takes about ten minutes. The doctor will ask your child to rinse his mouth from time to time.

If you experience slight pain after a tooth filling, you can observe yourself first. Some slight discomfort and pain may disappear over time. If the pain does not subside after tooth filling but worsens, or if there is jaw pain, throbbing pain, pain from hot or cold stimulation, or spontaneous pain at night, you should go to the hospital for follow-up examination and treatment in time to find out the cause and eliminate the pain.
